I don't know about the best CEO, but I hope every board member understands how badly they have failed the employees and the participants. If TIAA had been a public company, the endless parade of feckless board members would have been identified, exposed and dismissed a long time ago. If any of you useless dilletantes are reading this, A Ouija board and a Magic Eight Ball would have been more effective at strategic planning and executive selection. You may have made a lot of money and gained reputational cache in your social circles, but you are all abject failures as board members. Thasunda just takes all the heat for what was actually YOUR id--tic decision.
