Every day we have to deal with gaslighting, intimidation, and bullying. It's not occasional. It's every single day. No wonder morale is in the gutter.

Agreed. In IT, especially with roles like Director(acting as Product Owner), the “my way or the highway” mentality has become almost cliché. The irony? These positions are supposed to be about facilitating collaboration and aligning stakeholders, not ruling like a medieval king with a Jira backlog as their scepter
