Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Yes Much More to come.

Cognizant is rolling out a new AI platform for Centene. It will launch in 2027 and will replace most humans. What AI can’t do, they are hiring H1-B outsourcing. Look up Cognizant & Trizetto.
This is the program Sarah was talking about in the last townhall. Our old outdated billing systems are going away.

I wonder what former Centene person works for cognizant?

The hype over Cognizant and Trizetto is way over played. Relax. It won’t be fast or easy. It will, however be cheap. At least for a period of time. I saw this working with TCS. In the beginning it’s cheap, it the problems stack up, then they raise their fees. Over time they acquire the knowledge and the workforce and you cannot get rid of them. It’s a long term spiral.

@dd I fear that will be the case for all corporations some day. Just a wrapper, by name only.

I cannot recall the movie I am remembering but I am picturing a single person sitting in a room filled with computers, who is running either a city or planet, or maybe it was a solar system, I cannot remember. But it almost feels like that is where things are headed. The other imagery I have is from that movie Wall-ee, I think, where all of the unemployed people will be sitting in remote chairs with IV’s for food and virtual reality headsets on, while we all get out of shape from lack of activity.

I've been in several meetings with the cognizant people sharing workflows while they make false promises that one day we can actually care manage and not be data entry clerks.

The $500M to $1B deal with CTS is very real, although if you ask executive leadership they will say it's rumor mill fodder. I assure you, it's not.

In 18-24 months, Centene will be unrecognizable. IT and operations will be outsourced via the deal. The marketing, legal, and governance functions will remain. Centene will be a wrapper only.

@ah any time you get an AI caller, look at it as an opportunity. It’s pretty easy to break the bot and get it off script. I like asking for recipes but your mileage may vary.

This guy has a YouTube channel and has taken it to another level. Very entertaining!

@OP Oh, this TriZetto? LOL. The one dealing with a 700,000+ person data breach and consolidated federal litigation? Due diligence from Centene? Nah, cut the $500 million check. 🙃

Maybe the technology works. That’s not the same thing as proving this operating model works at Centene scale. But hey, beta testers!!!

Who owns the failures when something breaks? Who understands the dependencies? Who governs the handoffs? Who is accountable when the vendor says it’s Centene and Centene says it’s the vendor?

Centene seems convinced it can remove internal capability, hand more of the business to vendors and consultants, and somehow retain the same control, institutional knowledge and accountability.

The emperor has no clothes.

Just a puffer jacket. 😂

@ag Nowadays, anytime I call customer service for any company, when someone answers, the first thing I ask is, “Are you a human or artificial intelligence?”

Sometimes, if it is an AI Bot, they will not at first directly answer my question but will answer something like, “How can I help you today? I can assist you with all questions”.

So, I keep asking, “I understand that but first I want you to answer my first question. Are you a human or AI?” After about the third time, if it is AI, it will finally answer something like, “No, I am not a human. I am an artificial intelligence bot but am fully capable of answering all of your questions.”

After that, I say, “I want you to connect me with a human being.” Once again, this may take two or three tries before it will finally connect you.

Anyway, I suggest everyone do this every time and keep doing it until companies eventually cave and have to hire more human customer service people back, just because there are so many “obstinate” people like us that simply refuse to speak with AI.

He's right. AI will be doing customer calls and they make it very hard for you to actually get to a agent and by the time if they actually do get to an agent they're going to be so mad you're going to want to hang up on them
