Thread regarding Solventum layoffs

Why?

Been here 11 years and other than Covid this is the worst things have ever been. Moving too quickly before making corrections. Its causing burn out and patients are suffering. So many mid to upper level management positions and not enough feet on the ground. I personally know around 10 people looking to get out. Best preferred place to work my butt. They are ki-ling us! It has to stop. We have so much opportunity to do good here. I want to see things through but these uppers are forcing our hand. Every sector is a sh-t show. At least we have the AI roleplays set up though!

After 13 years, this Friday will be my last day, and I honestly could not be happier to get out. The only sad part is leaving so many great colleagues and friends behind, still being fed into the meat grinder that this company has become.

10 years for me and, I too have never experienced this much incompetence of LEADERSHIP from the C Suite, to production, to distribution, on to service. Clinical has been decimated. Are there any scientists left? Customer- facing sales reps bare the brunt of all of it, dont have enough product to fill current orders, nor start trials and conversions and arent going to get paid for their work if they can do it. This company could be THE company that every other wishes it could be. (And maybe was when it was 3M and KCI). This company could do so much good for patients and customers. The current state of the company is a reflection of what happens when you 1. hire all your friends for the C-suite, multi-million dollar jobs, 2. have no action behind your buzz words and promises, 3.Use smoke and mirrors to explain the salaries and commision structure of your workforce, 4. don't appreciate how a strong clinical workforce can set you apart from the competition 5. prioritize the happiness of investors on Wall Street above all else and 6. dont hold anyone accountable.
Maybe this entire mess is to hasten chopping up the divisions and selling them off? The good news in that would be IF we have jobs come November, we may be employed by another company.
