Why are we talking about PEs here? Let’s talk about the Directors and Senior Directors who are not doing any work at all and just signing vendor contracts and reporting vendor created slides?
AC, the MD sidekick of the past, leads from the front and is a prime example of what is wrong with the technical talent in this company.
GT needs a lot of training. These PEs and DEs are dinosaurs and surprisingly not extinct yet. Their knowledge is outdated.
DEs are the same level as Senior Director and not VP.
DE is a Distinguished Engineer (VP level individual contributor)
What’s a DE?
they are just a garbage at Nike.
They draft position papers among themselves which never change or drive direction.
On my team senior and lead engineers solve the hardest problems. PE is a mo--n. Because of AI he can finally write code. But its clear that he has never designed any complex system by himself.
A lot of our DEs and PEs won’t get a job as a senior engineer in a decent engineering team. Some of them have not written any code or done any decent architecture designs in a years. It’s worse with AI. They talk about using AI but can’t explain any implementation of their AI generated content and nor can they survive the double clicking. My DE doesn’t even use Git! I have no idea what that person does.
They post useless sh-t on linkedin 🤣. For real.
They create frameworks and tools that no one uses.
