Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

I am angry and unhappy

I am not going to lie or write platitudes. It took me by surprise and I has been not able to recover. Do I need to be sweet and write beautiful things??? AH ????

@dt I wish I have taken it to not been treated like I was. My self esteem would not be shattered. I am consulting attorneys and EEOC.

I said many years ago after we were purchased, that If it comes to just shuffling papers, what are you really doing? From the clinical aspect, the demands of the case load and the audits (maybe AI will be better) but that has yet to be determined. Point is it is a sweat shop and “coaching” as it is termed is nothing more than shuffling papers for many coaches, Looks good on productivity. Pretty bad when it gets audited but you are judged by the standard the half a-s team members do. Glad this is over. VSP for me. 9/4 is almost here. I hope those left can either find something outside of this place or a role here they can thrive. numbers do not = quality.

@OP You're going through the normal stages. Anger/Blame/Frustration is one stage. Some people get through that one faster than others, depending on how much their livelihood is impacted. I was a PL who got RIF'd. I am upset about how it was handled, but I would be lying if I didn't say that I am also relieved. My role never made much sense for the short time I was there. It's almost like I was hired in case this happened because my PL kept everything close to their chest, and independent decisions were frowned upon. Thankfully, my team knew that the management style wasn't coming from me. Unfortunately, they were also RIF'd.

No. I think you have the right to feel how you feel. This whole thing feels suspicious and sh---y. Vent if you must. You are allowed. I took the VSP. I decided I could not take one more circus after 26 years. (22 years then layed off) came back for more. Why? I believe in what we do. I just don’t believe in all of the business part of it. Best of luck to you.

@OP I understand. My last layoff, I felt exactly the same. But you have to shake that off and move forward. They win if you can’t move on in a positive manner. The anger will also affect your ability to interview and job search. Have your moment, shake it off, and get busy making a better future for yourself.

Take care and best of luck to you.
