Reporting this from Jacksonville FL office that three Interns who joined straight from college campus were RIF'ed.
Clearly management want certain people as employees.

Interns are not employees
@ag it is your belief that firing those who have the knowledge and experience to keep FIS limping along is the best move because of bunch of newbies with no knowledge or experience would be better? That is a terrible experience for them. However, being young allows them to regroup and find another job. Tenured employees who have built departments from scratch are not valuable? Is that you, Bob? Stephanie?
@a8 that would require paying a severance
Interns from college with 0 days of experience. So sad to see them go and sad this company hires them at 25-45k and drags them along as far as they can before they move on to better companies.
I prefer seeing them fire the older people that have been here 10-20 years or more. That's the best move.
Nothing but brilliant choices seen daily.
@OP Sorry they had to go through that. Best of luck to a chance for a better future with a different employer.
