Thread regarding PayPal layoffs

Previous layoffs package ?

Any one who has been previously laid off willing to share what the redundnacy package was? Did they pay 2,3,4, weeks per year? Etc ? I know the packages may be different globally, but trying to gage what the package is likely to look like?

Does anyone know if they accelerate vesting as part of past severance packages?

@fz had a feeling it was capped now. Few friends of mine were laid off in 2023 and shared with me what they got. They got a lot more than what some others got last year. So payouts seem to have for sure decreased. :(

EMEA/Dublin layoff payout was capped at 52 weeks in 2024

@a5 in EMEA they pay 2/3 months of last year total compensation (salary, bonus, stocks) for each year you worked on the company, much better than the US

@bs probably not many people checking here that have been previously laid off. There is a doc out there internally that outlines severance pay, but like most other hr stuff, good luck finding it

Does the company require a NDA or why don’t people discuss this more openly?

2 weeks is absolutely insane. It’s a slap in the face. Most other FIs start at a month and 90 days isn’t unheard of at all.

F this ish

What has the severance package been like in past layoffs for folks who haven’t completed 1 year at PayPal?

This is a good topic , now that we are the week of expected layoff

EMEA is much better than NA I believe. I think NA maybe got around 2 weeks per year of service and EMEA around 4 to 6 weeks per year of service. I doubt too many people who were laid off visit this site but maybe others can say what they heard.
