Has anyone actually met a very competent BTC Technical Employee? Someone really good at what they do and can actually compete with an above average US employee? Why would such a person work for 15% of the US pay?

@hg Indian nepotism is famous in Silicon Valley.
Maybe the Indians that made it to America and thrived to become company leaders are very different than the Indians still in India willing to work for 1/10 normal salary that EM is recruiting.
The fact that bigger and better companies than EM are led by Indian executives in the USA, perhaps suggests that EM is a systematically biased company?
I work with some wonderful BTC folks, but independent thinkers they are not.
If they could take initiative and get the right answers, they could demand 20% of a normal salary.
With the number of Indian staff, if they were in fact equal, there would be a few Indian Vice Presidents and Presidents.
Instead there is an American HiPo under 40 leading BTC.
Please post a list of all Indian Executives in EM.
Yes quite a few. To even ask an id--tic question like this only reflects on your own bigotry and inferiority. Dude get a fuggin life!
@dj yup. I mean why would you stay if you can either work at Chevron’s ENGINE Center in the same town and get paid at least 150% more or go work for other majors as an expat.
I’ve met several over my time. Every single one has left the company after a few years. They view it as a paid training program and good for them. If they are talented, why would they stay and accept 1/5 the pay and poor culture?
One.
You get what you pay for
Nope
Of the 20+ employees that I interfaced with regularly at Bangalore, I encountered exactly one employee who was very competent, so less than 5%. The rest were absolutely useless.
@al1, bless your heart! I'm sure you have no idea what that means. It's "southern" and it's not a compliment. No name schools.... psshh? Why don't you check out the annual enrollment. Your statement is factually incorrect... so you lack knowledge and credibility, basically proving the points being made on this site.
When staffing positions for my customer... they don't say no one from a southern school... they say no one from BTC please!!
I would say the majority of the BTC have fake degrees, and no I haven’t met one that is even average at their job.
Yes. Yes. The job is close to their family.
US employees are no better than BTC, especially those from no name southern schools like Texas Tech, LSU, MSU.
