Thread regarding Mutual of America Life layoffs

Mutual of America - Castaway from LaLa

It’s all about the money. It’s not about skilled labor. You get what you don’t pay for. TIAA-CREF’s recent experience says it all from The Layoff TIAA Board:

I was just about to come to this site and make a post about my first experience with Accenture. Our TIAA FTE team is partnering with two teams that are completely made up of Accenture resources, and holy smokes, these people are completely incompetent and useless! We’ve met with two Accenture teams that are supposed to be working together on our project, and neither are aware of what each team is doing, completely unaware of how to tech solution, and any time you ask a question, it becomes a “takeaway” that they NEVER respond to.
Ten calls so far since the beginning of the PI, and we’ve literally done nothing but listen to the Accenture teams argue with each other about who is supposed to own things on their teams.
All those KT meeting with Accenture and they learned nothing.
RKT is going to sink because of these people.

@at yes it does ! favoring low performer, non productive sales reps. No layoffs for Capital Management. no shared sacrifice. overpaying of c-suite executives, and keeping biased incentive comp quarterly pay plans for RPSs and select people in Cap Man & the c-suite.

@aq never heard about this DOL complaint. What is the back story on that. Rich has not stabilized the firm. Capital Management funds have tanked this yr & the firm is on pace to lose $1B in net outflows again. Under his watch Fitch cut the firm to 1 notch above junk bond status at BBB+ as the firm has failed to raise revenue

Nepotism and Corruption Allegations
Shortly before his firing, Greed secretly promoted his son-in-law to Vice President and his daughter to a management position for which she was allegedly unqualified. These actions, described by employees as evidence of a "bunker mentality" and corruption, caused several management staff members to resign. Employees characterized the culture under Greed as a "mob mentality" focused on favoritism rather than competence.

@OP huge savings to the company on healthcare. Save $25,000 per year on health care & benefits per employee alone. It’s because of those GLP-1s you know the Diabetes dr-g which doubles as a weight loss job. They manufacture it in India for like $10 a injector pen & sell it here for $1000. MoA is a self funded plan but there are tons of employees in their late 50’s & 60’s with cancer & it is “k-ill-in the budget. Ship over to India, & health insurance expenditures go way down.
