Don’t wait to be picked — pick yourself first. If the writing’s on the wall, update that resume today. Change on your terms beats change by sur

Watching multiple down votes cascade down every post in every thread in real time in a matter of seconds reveals Verizon positions that have yet to be affected by the layoffs.
Keep up the good work VTeamer. You are doing Dan and your fellow VTeamers proud.
And downvote in 3, 2, 1....
Change by sur = Change by sev
Change by sev + vaca = $$$ + $$
Change by terms = $ or maybe $$ but probably not $$$
Change by sev + vaca + finding job b4 sev runs out = $$$ + $$ and maybe $ or $$
So one might be able to say that a sev in the hand is worth more than two terms in the bush.
Only a fool would leave money on the table.
But if you are feeling like the few that are no longer with us (RIP) because the passive aggressive management bullies drove them over the edge, then leave now.
Full stop.
Do not pass go.
Having nothing is worth more than the $2,500 84" x 28" x 20" box they got for their sacrifice to Verizon.
Since 2020, my team lost two and the news was heartbreaking. Another was let go the day they back from short term disability after mental breakdown over work related pressure. Hopefully that wasn't enough to push them over the edge.
And I would be lying if I didn't admit that I have been closer than I would have liked. But I was able to pull myself out of the downward spiral much to the disappointment of at least two managers. Forget them and horse they rode in on. They are in other orgs now.
Yes but it’s nice to get paid severance while looking for a job. Why waste the opportunity?
Agreed. I hate change by sur.
