Lots of Directors and Senior Manager roles are going to be turned IC's
@b3 This is the corporate guideline for span of control. M6's must have 7 or more direct reports. This 'rule' get bent all the time and depending on 'who you are' and 'who your report to' your mileage may vary..... I know M5's that have had 15+ and the M6 had 4 with multiple M6's in the org.
they're millionaires it doesn't matter
@cw Look at the "Chief of Staff" for CEGBU - total snake.
@c8 that business is a political cesspool - poor leadership and favoritism
@bj but he su-ks Mr Pottery Man (think about it!!!) little d—- so he ain’t going any where. It’s like azure colonization. I’m amazed we don’t have more
I just looked at my mgmt chain, I 'report' to M5 with 17 total, and he has M5 w/ directs also. They make me have two managers, his M5 has weekly 1x1 and then I have bi weekly with the other. In India. Such micro managers in India. Never had this. Can't stand it.
@bc too late to do it before......
@c8 ERP or CEGBU?
@b3, there are GVPs in Sales who have only 2 direct reports. And some GVPs are reporting to GVPs! Insane.
@cf,
A good start. Let me know when it reaches dozens!
@bp I personally know a director who was let go in March 31, so it has been happening.
Hope they do it in the Construction and Engineering business unit.
How many times have we heard that? I'll believe when I see the redundant, useless VPs (and Directors!) getting culled.
there is an ex Azure and current SVP in NA Engineering that needs to go and he needs to take his Azure cronies with him.
tons of je-ks need to be shown doors
@ag then orcl would be probably the 1st company that would layoff management before peasants. It makes sense ... therefore it's definitely not The Oracle Way (tm).
DW under Real Estate should be on the list..
There are many VP's who now have a total of 6 to 10 direct reports.
@a7 Sad for those of us who are not getting promoted because of gate-keeping. Those on the outside would think we're no good at work.
Can I submit a few names.....
You should keep the employees who actually do the work and reduce the management layers.
During the last mass layoffs they did the other way around and now all the actual work is collapsing.
Based just on your wishes I'm guessing
I hope they thin the ranks of directors. Everyone is a fuggin director around here.
