I am 100% virtual employee. Can I work from International location? I have asked my manager and he said no. I would like to visit Australia and work from there for a month instead of using my pto. Has anyone tried to take the laptop outside rhe country like on a cruise or anything like that?

There are always different rules depending on whether you are part of the royal court or a peasant- your manager said no so now you know you’re not one of the chosen ones. Sorry,- it is a nice gig if you can get it (and willing to sacrifice your morals)
@OP I love to see people apply logic to this place - I work 100% remote so can I go to Australia or wherever....cracks me up - no you can't sweets - who do you think you are someone special - you are not - no one under SVP is - and their pals - did you bother to read the post about the poor individual who could not work remote to attend her mother's serious surgery - you make me laugh -
@sw - have seen also with India - I think some that do this work out of offices there. But also many need to go back and forth for visa purposes.
I work with multiple people who’ve worked remote from India while visiting family this summer (based in US). Their VP is also Indian so maybe that factors in.

I requested to work from another state while my mom was having a serious surgery and was told no. I ended up having to take leave to be there
I know someone in my department who works from Canada all the time. They have been given access when they want two to three weeks of working from there , the person is a director and their manager is a staff vp. If the manager is powerful enough to convince security they can I guess. Not sure if there is a special arrangement because it’s Canada but that’s still international
You're dreaming.
You are reporting up to old regime which means old ways of working. They are not going to change functions to accommodate temporary offshore working unless that is the land/country you were born into and EH already has business established there. If you want that type of flexibility, you need to look for a job elsewhere.
A new VP in my department, in an important role, had a pre-planned and approved "work from the Caribbean" arrangement for 2 months. Once security found out about it, they told him to get back or find another job. That was a VP.

Definitely cannot. HR won’t allow it. If you try to, management gets a report daily/weekly with the location of your IP address even if you mask it. Not worth the risk unless you’re one foot out. Enjoy your vacation/PTO.
Chiming in to reinforce others' comments that no, you cannot. If you travel internationally, you have to open a ticket with a valid business reason that you need access.
Given that your boss has already said no, you can expect any ticket you open to be denied. Either commit to the PTO to visit Australia or don't go.
You also can't get away with moving states without approval, as there are tax implications at play in those cases as well.
No you cannot. There are tax and security reasons for it.

You need to submit a ticket and get it approved by your manager and HR with a valid business reason. If you connect from international location without approval you can get fired.
You cannot do it - well...unless you are a VP etc. But there are others who have used it in the airport between planes/trains/cruises while on "time off" but you know they don't need permission.
