@bf @bv - I continue to be amazed at how many people still maintain an entire fantasy life around John Chambers. I'd give him a lot more credit for acquiring to fill every niche in networking starving out most of the competition if it weren't for the fact he did nothing to build any development skills in house with IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS and IOS-XE being monuments to how one should not develop software. Chambers dug the thousand mile deep pit of technical debt during a time when the low hanging fruit acquisitions dried up and Cisco's business went from hot to legacy so anyone coming after him was going to have a rough time of things. Top talent wants to change the world while collecting the rewards, not fix bugs in legacy code for average wages.
FYI
Sell - NOW
Chambers was such an id--t - the people on here that worship that guy are truly delusional
It closed at $130.00 for one day in June. A year ago on 8/20/2025 it closed at $67.11. It closed yesterday at $110.55. When I look at how Cisco has done against inflation since 2023 I can't see why it would be worth anywhere near its current price. Count your blessings while they last.
Chambers kept the stock flapping around $25 for most of the last 14 years of his tenure and unless I missed it Chuck didn't try to make a $750 tablet whose big enterprise application was flashlight or create another three more broken routing and switching operating systems. Again, count your blessings while they last.
yes let's leave it there otherwise we will pay higher taxes at the next round of ESPP or RSU. All good, thank you for mentioning it
Who didn't see that coming?
