While they are cutting here in the USA,, they keep hiring in India and Latin America. All I see in LinkedIn is new Brazilians, Mexicans and Indians celebrating being hired by Lenovo.
I was pushed out by a manager who started giving my projects to Indians. At least I was given a severance but don't believe for a second that if a person in another country can do your job for 1/4 of your salary, that they won't get rid of you..

Because management needs a bigger house and another luxury car! What, you think it's going to actually "trickle down" to the people actually doing the work?
Because management needs to keep the slaves, er, um, individual contributors scared and still working overtime to produce more at deflated wages. And, you can't imagine they can survive with just one big house and luxury car, right? Think of "leadership"!
