Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Low assessment follows you more than ever

I have heard multiple supervisors in multiple different conversations comment that they want to bring some “low performers” into their teams since teams are no longer being given special distributions and no longer allowed to pass people on PIPs. If you are offered a role in a group you have never worked in and don’t know anyone in turn it down as you are being setup as the sacrificial lamb.

once you fall, there's no path to recovery unfortunately. the system is asymmetric. fall is easy, getting up back is hard.

@a7 100% what happened to me. Went my entire career until I was promoted to 28 and then suddenly became worthless per the ranking system.

Welcome to the "new" management strategy of accepting "low performers" into their group prior to rating and ranking so that they transfers become the NSI group.

Also, if you are a CL-27, you can be promoted to CL-28 and you automatically go to the bottom of the CL-28 ranking which means that you are a NSI candidate. Management routinely promotes CL-27's to CL-28 just so that they can protect their CL-28/-29 group by providing H/R endorsed new CL-28's for NSI.
