Nearly all banks did this like lemmings - doesn’t really make sense in most cases. One reason is for political managers to call dibs on large loan sectors with built in loan growth. Also to hide bad client acquisition performance.

Agreed - group/verticals needs to go because it’s just an expense with 0 value. Higher paid positions with a lot of duplicated work. Leaders of 6 people with goals not being met. More has been done with less.

Why stop there?

Just pay an intern to feed executive questions into an AI that will do decision-making for the organization. Can really save a ton of money laying off the C-suite and VPs.
