Thread regarding Optum layoffs

First layoff experience just move on. Optum has deep pockets you dont. The culling is carefully constructed not to trigger WARN. What are you going to to with 60 days notice absolutely nothing. More than likely you will get 60 days severance. so the whole point is moot

@OP Why would you sue for being laid off? Anyone can be laid off for any reason. This is just crazy unless you can explain what makes you so special.

@jp I'm not defending UHG, but wow how have they not filled WARN notices? Do you have an example of an office location?

The reason we have constant layoffs is because they slide under the thresholds to avoid warn. You won’t ever win a lawsuit

1. Your severance will become null if you do.
2. This company is run by pros. They know how to do this.

No lawyer would even listen to you.

UHC/Optum never abide by the WARN Act

Are you saying there was a mass layoff at your location and there was no WARN notice?

You can use AI (like google Gemini) to get an idea of whether or not there was a violation and if it is worth your time to contact a lawyer.

@OP Can you provide context of why you think you would have a case? How many people were laid off at your work address? The minimum is usually 50 for a WARN notice.

You think the department of labor even looks at these things? Take your measly severance and move on. Some folks never even get one.
