Atleast we will see some more people walking around on campus, especially Monday and Friday.
We (wck workers) have no one to blame but ourselves. "Hybrid" work, leaving early, and all that.
any news regarding stcb , everyone
It’s too expensive to have global tech roles in Houston now as salaries are too high. Reducing Houston head count makes complete sense and will save a lot of money. Better to have deep water experience in places like Rio where the local basin is still growing unlike end of life GoM assets.
@bn Houston Woodcreek main campus
@OP what is WCK? sorry but i dont know
Guys any update on stcb ?
@a9 Shell, enormous overhead for the businesses to cover. In many cases is for service or branding that is not needed in those businesses.
@a9 to be fair, you could be the bastion of efficiency that is bp!
the only thing that the wael sawan leadership team has ever done during its entire tenure is cut back in order to buy stock!
fire people (but never a single manager of any kind)
sell assets for less than what we paid because we have become too incompetent to run them
sell real estate because it’s so hard to serve food when you lose 6 billion dollars selling chemical. have to cut somewhere. but never up top! only services and employees and the very things that are supposed to make us money.
word is that vitol lives the refineries that we sold them which magically became profitable once they got them. gee, i wonder why. just like how chemicals will magically be profitable when somebody else buys them. or how woodcreek will magically be profitable when somebody buys it. it sure is magical how we never make money with the same things that our buyers do.
we are undervalued compared to exxon they say. the same exxon which will buy chemicals from us for 8 billion dollars four years after we sank 14 billion dollars into it, and then, magically, turn a profit. why aren’t we as valued as companies capable of competently running assets says wael sawan and senior management. truly a magical mystery. i wonder if the shareholders can solve it. so far, not so good.
Isn’t Shell about to move out of One Shell Square in New Orleans into a new building along the river front?? Crazy days.
As expected, another failure of leadership at Shell. Just last week, the message was, “We’re considering our options,” and today it’s suddenly, “Let’s sell.”
If the decision had already been made last week, then be transparent about it. There’s no need to mislead employees or pretend the outcome was still under consideration. That lack of honesty only makes the leadership team look worse.
@a5 Shell people will be squeezed into two buildings - E and F.
where will people go after sale?
We knew it was coming but still crazy to see.
