What has Gunjan done since making cries about inequality, racism, not having a seat at the table, and how the C suite is full of the good old boys club to get to where she is? Nothing but major cuts, more unqualified offshore hiring, bad business practices and decisions, achieved nothing meaningful, and worst performance then her previous predecessors. It is sad to watch the downfall of US Bank.

Well if anything, even if we're all miserable by now, having a Star Wars name like hers is about to get a lot more expensive & when funds transfers breaks in the middle of the night you're going to want a 'me' behind the scenes to actually fix it, not some mo--n in a GCC waving their lighsaber around 'remitting the needful' in circles of broken English. Unfortunately for the Bank I won't be here by then. America first, Americans ONLY.
The BKX bank index is up about 27% over the past year versus USB at around 29%. Hardly outperformance. USB is basically tracking the bank index. That's not exactly something shareholders are celebrating.
The stock has historically traded in the low to mid $60 range at its highest point over the past 10+ years and hasn't ever sustainably broken out of that price range. The stock is also expected to underpace the broader S&P 500 over the next year by a few percentage points.
So anyone claiming that the street "loves her" doesn't quite understand what the street loves. It loves outperformance relative to benchmarks. This isn't it. It's a mediocre stock with a decent dividend, and the market likes banks right now. That's about all the stock has going for it.
Show me real organic growth in top-line revenue, real market-share growth, and strong earnings growth, and then talk about how much the street loves the stock. Otherwise, this is a utility and is simply riding the changing tide of market performance. If the street loves this team's execution, it certainly isn't reflected in the stock price relative to the benchmark.
Wall Street loves her. she is CEO of the year.
Remember, when you cut expenses like laying off 10,000 employees and hire their replacement in India, that’s what Wall Street love.
US based employees are a liability, while offshore employees are an asset we should be excited about, like Wall Street is. The head of Operations said this on a call
She's doing well for stock prices... And from an industry viewpoint that's really all that matters. Shareholders couldn't care less how employees feel.
Worst performance? USB stock is performing well which is a sign that Wall Street is pleased with how the bank is performing.
