Thank you. An american engineer comes start at 8am , does some bs data collection for 4 hours. Then lunch time. 1 hour. Rest 3 hour does the same bullsh-t. Then an h1b ahole is there , take over the work , customers are escalating , manager is trying to manage the situation by saying you are in better hands now. In the mean time that time passer is out doing out door activity while the h1b is working his a-s off to fix the problem and it does gets fixed. Happens to me every day. New H1B’s were making sometimes 40% MORE than US hires who had been at Oracle for 5 to. 10 years. H1B’s were crushing it at the office I was at and they were definitely getting current market salary rates, saw that with my own eyes.

The only area I guess you could say they are disadvantaged at was they were trapped working for Oracle due to the leverage with the visa itself.

I can vouch for this. They become managers of US citizens and control their future. They complain with ill will to their managers. They act like overlords thibking they own USA

@OP I thought it was pretty well established that O was laying off the higher-paid, more expensive people, meaning those who cost less are fairly safe. That would eliminate the need to unload the H1Bs if it's true they're being paid less than Americans or citizens of whatever country has the equivalent work visa option.

Pay H1Bs the same as citizens and that not only removes that protection from layoffs, it removes the desire to hire more of them - just bring in the people making up for lack of skilled citizens.

H1B is a US government immigration and jobs visa program,
Oracle is not doing anything illegal.
If you have any questions regarding this visa Program please talk with the federal government or directly with your president Trump. (Most probably he is sleeping, but in his deep mind he knows America need H1B visas to make America Great Again, so he will keep this Government immigration and job visa program unchanged)

@an that’s because the wait for a greencard is just several years for Chinese on H1B. Not 100+ like an Indian. Indians are the perfect ethnicity to take advantage of, for a toxic manager.

If anything, hire them in the IDC with premium pay! Good Indian devs are not much cheaper than a good American dev. And when it’s all good, they can just move to the US as multi-millionaires. Indians/anyone deserve a chance to thrive here.

I'm honestly shocked how few H1B Chinese employees work at Oracle. They definitely need to stop all these indian hires. No offense to indian people. There are thousands of companies to work for. Oracle just has hired too many non American indians.

You also likely hate the politics certain h1b employees introduce to the company. Which in Oracle, is like half of them.
