So far according to Irish media only 29 employees impacted today so far. Its currently 4.30pm. I reckon if there was an Irish blood bath today it would have happened by now

@bc what do you mean by one day code freeze? And why are u expecting blood bath for irish workers?
@bc only heard of the smb so far and its 4pm. What other departments / roles affected in Ireland?
There was a one day code freeze. I reckon its all being done today. They are clearing out everyone in ireland with any tenure. Bloodbath,
Nothing announced for PayPal credit Republic of Ireland workers
This is going to be a week long debacle.a and it's not over (for Ireland anyway) until official numbers of those made redundant are made public to the press. Simple as that.
Just get it over with cus it's pi----g everyone off now and destroying the mental health of everyone and honestly productivity is at an all time low.
@ay it’s not over and is all week. Serious garbage company.
@az they didnt announce numbers though? They gave notice of layoffs, but once they are finished with the layoffs, the media reports the total number. That second part hasn't happened yet?
@az no but they would announce numbers if it's over
They've never mentioned the amount of staff effected in this round
They always give a number
@they announced the layoffs in irish media in June so this already covers them.
@ax exactly. It's not over
Cus if it was they would of announced numbers in the Irish 1pm lunch time news
They was announce numbers
Rumors are this is going to be a multi day event starting from the top down
If its not in the Irish news yet, can we assume it is not finished yet in Ireland?
Seen a decrease in roughly 300 total participants at the global slack channel.
@ad what time zone????
Confirmed lay offs in Ireland / UK team smb team
@ad yea it seems like it's across multiple departments/business units.
Hopefully they'd be some form of announcement when US time zone wakes up.
How exciting!!! PAY. ME. OFF. :-)
I have heard 3 different calls from a variety of different sources, both here and directly from people who were invited:
10am smb sales
11am smb servicing
12pm brcl/collections
I'm more APAC and yea some of my peers got the 10am / 11 am meeting invite. Even more it's not performance based firing as well.
However, I heard today isn't the last, more to come tomorrow and the following days.
Everyone has been kept in the dark with no pre-internal annoucements.
@a3 2 separate notifications
First meeting at 10am
Next round 11am
Can people update teams effected for Ireland so far if they know
@a8 true enough. The media always seems to know before we do.
@a8 yeah when the number is officially announced to the government and hits the news I would say it's over for now for Ireland
Be interesting to see what happens
One part of me wants out but there's a small part that can't be assed looking for new employment
@a3 nothing in the news about the total number in Ireland, that is usually the case. PP has to tell Govt exactly how many before the redundancies start, and press reports on it immediately, I'm sure during the day more will follow. However the date surprises me as Ireland has a fixed 8 week period, usually they start in the week of salary so it fits with PP schedule
@a5 maybe your department hasnt been impacted then. It would be good to share your department when leaving updates like this this.
@a5 smb sales have been notified of meeting at 10am
@a3 I'm in Ireland and I have not received any meeting notification.
@a3 which departments , do you know ?
People in Ireland have already received a meeting invitation for this morning.
