Companies can fire anyone anytime in Massachusetts we are an At Will state.
I think that should be our collected focus to get our reps legislatures to maybe fix that and give us all some security.
We shouldn’t worry about being fired because we cannot make it into the office and need to work from home.
That promotes fear and hostility and negativity.
Let’s do what we can to fix being AT Will and this at the mercy of our employers.
Insubordination along with professionalism aside we need to have some security.

@a2 foot traffic/local economy is laughable. most of fid's offices are way too isolated and car dependent to meaningfully contribute to anything other than on site vendors/cafeteria.
@a2 you know that’s a good point I was thinking I’ll need a raise just to afford my food breakfast and lunch it’s like we’re indentured servants it something.
Our state is full of pie in the sky out of touch never worked a real job in their life politician.
The sick thing is we keep. voting for them expecting policy change.

How I see it, seems like they want to make life as miserable for as many as possible. They don’t want the negative publicity of layoffs. So they’re pulling this but they’ll end up losing some seasoned intelligent highly skilled employees that don’t need the cr-p to prove they’re there for Fidelity. They’ve done their time and will find a less hostile work place. I think it’s a huge miscalculation also because of seaport. Theres finite space and that shouldn’t be the reason to get rid of people.
Mandate 12-16 out of 20 days in the office a month just not always Mondays or Fridays the flexibility will do wonders for morale and productivity.
Collaboration is good except when it turns more into hanging out chatting and not working. So there’s pluses and minuses of full wfh and full rto but this hardline doesn’t sit well with intelligent productive employees after proving for six years they can be trusted. It’s a real et tu Brutus moment.
I don’t disagree with you but politicians are useless and are actually driving the return to office because they are concerned about commercial real estate collapsing and lost tax revenue plus impact to small businesses from less foot traffic. I am personally boycotting and bring a brown bag to lunch. Not infusing any of my money into the local economy.
