Many will be back as Contractors

Here's my positive spin... I've seen it way too many times at TR, there is a hit and some additional attrition that follows. Things slow down and pick up again - then people start coming back as contractors. The severance payout may be (and likely... — read more

There is some talk on this board that they are not done with EMEA just yet. Some say small offices (<15 employees) will be hit next, if not shut down completely. Does anyone know more?

DON'T BE HERE NOW :(

Shocking and sad stories coming from global quarters. There is panic everywhere. People who survived so far have worries of being outsourced or outsmarted by technology. SMEs are being laid off too :(

Got the package, it could be worse

TR Severance

I went through this in late 2016. In terms of severance, it's quite clear: UK: the terms are in your contract. If you're not new, I believe you're entitled to 6 months pay + 1 month per year of employment. Pretty straightforward. US: if you're Band... — read more

Layoffs/Redundancy Criteria?

Anybody knows how GE determines who'll be laid off? Anyone from HR here? What specific criteria is used for deriving decisions? I'm going to assume that age or pay are taken into account? But wouldn't that trigger possible age discrimination suits?
