MD Services Tech EISP

50k + 3750 per year. Submitted by Sept 10th, off payroll Sept 29th. No cable splicers have received it yet, possibly in 4th quarter after seeing how many serve techs take it.

How many people took VSP?

Is there at least a vague idea floating around? I’ve been wondering, because it will also determine the scope of RIFs which will surely follow. I was eligible to take VSP, decided not to, and I’m worried I made the wrong decision. I know it’s... — read more

Formula for VSP

Anyone remember what the formula was for calculating the VSP package amount?

December and March VSP release dates?

What chance does someone have to be released after September if you opted into the VSP? And who makes that decision? Is it HR, your immediate managers, or is it at the executive level? Will this be decided based on the individual team, or was it... — read more

Leaving but reticent.

I’m a long timer who reluctantly pushed the button. Before doing so I wrote emails and placed calls to gauge responsibilities post VSP. Repeatedly I was told that a response was coming, yet never received. It feels strange to witness a faceless... — read more

I’m not investing myself in this place

I decided a while ago that I will do the bare minimum that allows me to keep my job. I’ve been watching for years, not in this company only, people who were dedicated to their work, trying to build careers, looking for promotion and raise... — read more

Verbal Approval

Anyone get told verbally that leadership has approved their VSP?

Opt in....Then Opt out.

What is theories on if you clicked the button and then un clicked the button in the 11th hour. I heard some got talked back into staying. Do you end up on a lets RIF them first list?

RIF after VSP, contact your lawyer

This is for those that rejected. When the RIF happens and you are let go make sure to contact your lawyer regarding retaliation. This is common practice from companies and yes they can, do, and will lose in court if you are able to prove this. Its... — read more

Just a thought

In the airline I worked for, we had a saying. Stay close to the airplanes. Stay away from party planning type jobs. There were actual operational areas that had limited amount of employees that were not easily replaced. I made it through four... — read more

Integrity matters extended

Why? No one participating? Where’s the employee crying for vsp vol extension? Speaks volumes to VSP, might be low numbers but look at the volunteers that opted to leave. Talent and leadership lost.

My advise

Do the bare minimum guys. Prioritize your well being. Spend time with family and friends. Do not answer emails or phone calls during vacation. Go late, leave early. Enjoy life!!

vsp and relocation

I wanted to take vsp as I'm relocating to different state. they said I can reclocate and no take to take vsp. i'm a hybrid engineer

Lesson learned

I gave my 110% to Verizon for six years. I worked weekends, stayed late, picked up extra work, and did all I could to make sure things got done on time even if I was the only one putting in any effort. Then I learned I was being let go. My job was... — read more

Our Fate is now in VZ hands

2 weeks for VZ to decide should they stay or should they go. Some people got verbal they were going, my Mgr still says she doesn’t know anything. Hmmmmm

What's next.....

Now that the VSP window is closed what is next for Verizon. they announced 1500 in GNT but the numbers would be way less as many have revoked. What about GTS and VCG? When do you anticipate RIF and/or rebadging? Any Directors who can shed some light... — read more

Wanna feel better?

Check out the layoff board for Wells Fargo. Almost a mirror image of the Verizon board, but the Wells Fargo people have been putting up with it longer. Hopefully the state of the Wells Fargo people isn’t the shape of things to come for the Verizon... — read more

Anything?

Is there one single positive about working here? I really don't remember at this point.

2024 RIF IS IMMINENT!. Not enough VSP candidates

We received the confirmation that we needed during the All Hands Meetings this week. The Company’s expectation was to get a minimum of 15% for VSP opt in, unfortunately only 10% of the employees hit the button. If you review the last email that was... — read more

The answer!

I just can’t get over how many bemoan the situation in which they find themselves. The have’s and the have not’s. The people whom make the decisions that affect your lives and drive you to message boards such as this are much like you. The only... — read more

One sc--wed up company!

I took a package earlier this year. In today’s mail, I received a letter from Verizon. It stated that they made a mistake on my last payroll and that they overpaid me by $1,400. They asked for a cashier’s check within 30 days so they can ‘close’ my... — read more

Q2 report is bad. I’m shocked.

I mean, if you manage a company very badly, if you sc--w over customers, if management and scope of layoffs undermine your capacity to, you know, efficiently and profitably do what your company is supposed to do, one shouldn’t be surprised that all... — read more

Missed VSP!!!!

You'd think HR would extend the deadline given the Crowdstrike issue! I couldn't logon to make the selection, now I gotta work at a company that is heading downhill faster than Joe Biden on a gurney!

No wonder we're losing customers

When you stop believing in customer service and start cutting corners in that regard, then you can't be surprised when customers decide to take their business where they still feel valued. It's really not that complicated. Or at least it shouldn't be... — read more
