Are Areas and their Managers going to be affected?

I got my notice yesterday. wireless is going to 6 markets rather than 4 areas consisting of 5 or six regions each. Expectation is about 8000 or so layoffs enterprise wide.

It will be unethical for any company to treat people like consumables. There should be some difference between toilet paper and employees. You can not let these so called leaders treat employees as livestock and apply demand/supply economics.

Next one year VZ stock will be around 38. Their wireless margins will become razor thin. They knew that and that is why they are investing into cloud, telematics, iot, wireless first video etc. However they are too late in most of these segments.

Wireless has all the debt. Current VZ debt to equity ratio is about 9. Meaning that debt holders have a 9 times more claim on assets than equity holders.

They can lay off tens of thousands only in silence.
