Layoffs never happen on Mondays and Fridays. Period. There is a number of reasons here (e.g., if you mess up things on Wed you have Thur and Fri to fix it). The cut will take place on Tuesday, what exact Tuesday I do not know

Is this round of layoffs specifically intended to get rid of many field technicians? They seem to really dislike us (kill the copper) - I would not be surprised if they were to cut field technicians even more

I have a friend that lost his job (14 years) at Verizon to H1B visa people. He was laid off over a year ago. He had never heard of H1B visas until just last week. What you don't know, can hurt you.
