VMware by Broadcom has meant misery by the boatload

"A company this big cannot grow by acquisition. There are no targets left, and everything looks very different. The strategic choices facing the board are not so much how to manage VMware most efficiently for the next few years, but whether it's... — read more

Could they have done Day 2 any worse?

Why would they not simply map EA to Site ID and Super User to User Administrator, and call it a day? The current spaghetti mess is bad enough, but the arrogant unwillingness to fix it is mind boggling. I knew the AVGO overlords would be brutal, ... — read more

Get out before it's too late

Unless you're at the end of your career and resting and vesting, get out of there before it's too late. Those who have moved on have not looked back. Tech should be an exciting industry to work in, Broadcom su-ks out that excitement. Move on... — read more

Broadcom outsources sales and operations

Broadcom won't be dealing directly with 90 countries, sales, support outsourced to a dealer. All VMware staff in those countries have been moved to the dealer (MBCOM). Support for that entire region is now on MBCOM, no direct VMware support... — read more

How long does it take to get severance paid out?

Anyone know how long it's been taking others to get their severance paid out? Broadcom states "within 45 days." Just wondering if people gotten them sooner. Transition employee here... just moved over to HCL.

happy for Broadcom Sofia

Very happy to see that Sofia office was not affected much by the layoffs. My concern is that there is so many teams not generating any revenue and hiding under VC revenue bracket, not sure how sustainable this would be. Most of the teams has so many... — read more

Can't wait

I can't wait for the Transition folks (toxic ones who are envious) to finish there time soon and go on there gaga vacation which they have been harping about. They are ensuring nothing is working and managed and becoming bottle necks and creating... — read more

Broadcom with Meta

Meta relationship will drive Broadcom stock above 2000. Dont be stunned if all others like Nvidia, SMCI and AMD will crash this week. Thank Hock Tan in first week of June.

Day 2 migration fiasco

If this account and support migration gets any worse, I'm going to start thinking that the former VMware IT leaders are in charge of it. It's as if one person were walking along the edge of the Grand Canyon carrying a huge stack of file boxes... — read more

Long service awards

Does Broadcom offer long service awards at 3 years, 4 years, etc. ? Where can we get more information on the same ?

What is Omnissa?

The current leadership is significantly eroding corporate value. Why isn't there a smooth takeoff? The answer lies in their indifference to customer expectations. Many customers in various regions are disappointed. They are committing a fatal and... — read more

I love Broadcom and Hock Tan

I love Broadcom and Hock Tan. Thank you for all the RSUs and hikes. In office work is actually great for collaboration and skills development. Cafeteria up and running makes work from office desirable.

Where to next?

I've spent the last 14 years of my career invested deep into VMware. I was always sure it was a safe horse to bet on. I never imagined the brand would be destroyed so rapidly. VMware was once an easily accessible tech used everywhere and mostly... — read more

How's your Saturday? Some of us in GS are working.

Close the Cairo office and force NASA to work weekends. Now the weekend is filled with scared, underqualified TSEs, Monday/Friday is understaffed, and "I don't want to work weekends" is the number one reason TSEs are quitting. Great job, Hock! Once... — read more

What kind of severance did folks get?

I didn't make it when the acquisition was finalized, but it'd be nice to know if I'm better off with what I received versus what I would have gotten had I been laid off while at Broadcom.

More Layoffs ?

When would this stop? I love the RSUs but cant calm down and feel my name will be called. I already work on the NSX ALB product that no one dares to touch and multiple customer issues. I'm not even sure why VMware acquired this product in the first... — read more

VMC on AWS is not totally not dead!!!!

It's just that the people selling it that are saying it's dead. Yes it's true that the reseller agreement expired and they have no reason to sell it anymore, and in fact are actively trying to convert customers to EC2. But that doesn't mean it's... — read more
