“Soon” merger may be called off. Stay tuned
Correct order should be get all approvals => announce deal close => send out offer letters...
now the order is send out offer letters => announce deal close "soon" => struggling on getting all approvals What a mess and what a stupid team!
Elephant in the room - why early offers pre close?
So something that has been puzzling me, why did VMware decide to send out offers when the deal had not yet closed. We now have a majority of the workforce demotivated who knew they were not getting offers and if the deal collapses the damage will be... — read more
No news for at least two weeks
Since we are waiting for Hock, Hock is waiting for China's approval. For China, they are busy on preparing for APEC...BC/VMW is the least important thing for them, and they have zero motivation to make decision before US-China negotiation. So...let... — read more

Morale will never recover

The offers
Will the offers that were already sent out by Broadcom still be valid if the time runs out and the deal has to be renegotiated?
Not surprising but my Nov 1 rsu still say “pending”
Would not surprise me at all, to have this company sc--w us.

What is the difference now vs when VMware became a Dell company?
When Dell acquired VMware, VMware was still it's own company. With the BC accusation, will VMware be split up and merged with BC. Sounds like PSO ect will be moved to HCL, will the rest just be VMware by BC?
Do MD, SL, RR and rest of our leadership even realize the morale if BC doesnt go through?
what a total FUBAR - i dont see vmware ever recovering from this. i know many walked from severance which they wanted and accepted IC and manager ) just to have job certainty ( kids, mortgages, health insurance needs) while they 100% look for... — read more
Is there any possibility left for the deal to go through?
Looks like the deal is dead. China would have already approved it, if they wanted to. What are other folks thinking? Is it still possible the deal will go through?
Interesting deep dive video on China/Taiwan

What happens if the deal doesn’t go through?
If this doesn’t happen, how does VMware come back from this? Truly, what happens? We all just go back to normal?
The number of layoffs is looking brutal for my org. Many are transitional offers but that is still a layoff.
BC lied when they said they liked VMware for the software development talent. It is just business as usual for BC. I should have jumped ship a long time ago. I get sick when I think of the money the leadership team and Dell are making. I laugh when... — read more
I’m curious to hear people’s thoughts of how this will game out if this deal craters, which I think it will.

China may neither approve nor disapprove...

What makes Tan Hock so successful?
Honestly, his model is simple, anyone with access to capital can do it (and there are many with a ton of capital). So, what's his secret sauce, I just cannot see it?
Sales folks - how much harder is to sell now that the prices went up?
This is a frank question, I am not asking for details or specifics, just trying to get some general feeling. I am in the ME and and the price increases are significant, the customer is, at best, confused.
