Is there anybody who is 100% sure they will still have their job in a couple of months?
Notice Period
By now most of us know that we will fall into one of three categories that will define our fate. For those who fall into the being let go category and getting severance, in AMER specifically, does anyone know if when we receive a notice letter that... — read more
Just been contacted by a PSO recruiter - that MUST be a joke, right ?
I left 4 years ago and a recruiter just asked me about an opportunity as NSX Senior Consultant in PSO. That got to be a joke, right ? I replied asking for a contractual guarantee that the job isn't getting cancelled for four years and asked for... — read more

Good bye VMware

Interview/job at VMware
Would you recommend moving into a non engineering role with VMWare currently?
Can we decline a stay offer?
If we’re offered a position with Broadcom as a “stay” and aren’t interested can we decline it and take the layoff severance instead or do we just have to walk away with nothing?
What happens to our 401k
There has been no transparency about the 401k and what happens to it which is pretty annoying. If the 401k shuts down then they will liquidate and sell all the positions and nobody has any idea whether we will have the opportunity in advance to roll... — read more
Which letter do you hope to get
This is anonymous so feel free to share which letter you hope to get and why and which BU/org. I know many folks look forward to a pretty severence and instant vastung package for eerily retirement
Oct 30 pay
Do you think Oct 30 will be processed through VMW payroll or will Oct 15 be the final pay from VMW payroll? I am thinking payroll transition will take place earlier and BC may actually issue that check. Or perhaps they will run both payrolls in... — read more
Broadcom no-trade period policy?
Does anyone know if Broadcom has a No-Trade period policy after acquisition? They’ve been through a couple acquisitions. Did they end up freezing AVGO for 0-90 days or so for employee trades? I’m curious about how liquid my stock may have become... — read more
Broomfield office hiring more people
The Broomfield office has announced hiring at least three more people for on-site duties. Why would they do that unless they planned on more people being in the office?
Can people just learn that no one knows until everybody knows ?
There’s literally zero point in asking the same bloody questions about layoffs or merger or whatnot. Even IF you are the one that knows and you say in leadership meetings, no one will believe you unless you prove it or give facts. Just give it up... — read more

Vacation Days
What happens to vacation days when we get acquired or if you are laid off?
VMW - master of making the simple stuff more complex
The fact that there is no simple way to answer the question "What does Customer X own?" tells you much about this pile of dung that Hok is buying. Good luck to him in sorting it all out, lol.
How are the GSS folks doing?
Rarely see any activity on support or past examples of how Broadcom has dealt with product support function in the past. How are the sentiments in our support org?
Who works in sales and is worried about your job
I see lots of R&D complaining about return to office and less free time to basket weave or whatever they do lol. None of this applies to sales, who’s worried from sales?
China’s approval?
Would/could this deal proceed without China’s approval?
Permanent option
The permanent offer doesn’t seem that attractive. Not only can you get laid off at any time but you’ll be stuck with a draining daily commute to the office. You also have a lot less time to job search and schedule interviews.
Can’t get Interviews
I remember when recruiters would reach out. Now all I get are rejection letters. Anyone experiencing the same?
Voting date extended
I received an email from Fidelity telling me the voting date has been extended to the Monday 18th, from Friday the 15th. No idea why they would do that.
When is the actual close date?
Broadcoms fiscal year ends October 29th and all along they said it would close in their 2023 fiscal year (BC / VMware website still states this). However recent articles have said 10/30 and 10/31. Do we know what the actual date will be and will... — read more

Did not get laid off today
Met with my manager, they didn't mention layoffs at all. Didn't ask either, since even if they knew, they would lie to me. No news is good news, although I'm not sure being kept is all that good.
Company meetings on the 13th
Will this be another BS meeting with everyone back slapping each other for a cr-p job well done. Or , will we actually get some genuine information.. My bets on BS overload
