Cavernous Leadership Vacuum

What on earth is going on? It feels like the robots have taken over at our company and no humans are steering the ship. A very, very top inner circle executive passes and there is no public statement of condolence or sadness. The chief health officer... — read more

Any idea what triggered disappearance of CAO news thread? It is true it wasn't precisely layoff related but not sure what would trigger it's removal. Thoughts?

How are you doing with a job search?

I’ve been on the lookout for a while. I don’t want to leave immediately, but I wanted to see what’s out there. You never know when you might be laid off or pushed out, so it’s better to be prepared. Knowing there are other options available feels... — read more

Bonus/Merit

I understand that the Medicare lines of business were not as profitable for 2024 with the book of business BUT it doesn’t not mean the company as a whole did not do exceptionally well despite the economic climate. To say little to no AIP and even... — read more

Would you quit on a whim?

I’m fed up. It’s been bubbling for months now, and I got to the point that I hate coming to work. I can’t justify the terrible decision-making, bad management, profit-driven mentality, overtime, poor treatment of clients, office politics, tensions... — read more

This place has hit rock bottom

The pay is awful, the managers are clueless, and the working conditions are flat-out miserable. Any chance of advancing has been wiped out. It used to have a few bright spots, but now it’s just a sinking ship full of frustrated employees. Things need... — read more

2025 Wellness Days

For 2025, we got 2 wellness days just like 2024. I suggest you all use them all first instead of using PTO. You never know you get let go and end up losing free 2 days off. Let burden fall on your manager's shoulder while you're gone.

CA wildfires

Hoping our Woodland Hills associates are safe and OK. Crazy that there hasn’t been any communication from the company - the office is just north of the Palisades fire!

Warning Signs?

For those who have been through a RIF, were there any warning signs when you look back on it? Things like long periods of no hiring in the department, letting compliance go to the dumps, etc.? I get that there are a lot of rumors and opinions about... — read more

IU Health acquisition

Listening to this GB Execution Town Hall. They are talking about this acquisition and how amazingly ranked this IU health plan is. But merging with EH is a bad idea. The rating will go down. They will regret this.

Layoffs at the start of the year are nothing new at Elevance and I don't expect that this year will be any different. Be ready for it.

I accepted the fact that this job is temporary

Next year is likely going to be a tough one. I started preparing a while ago, and I’m actively looking for something else. Leaving this job will also not be the worst thing.

Jan 1st reorgs

Effective Jan 1st, hundreds of people will be going to Carelon from Health Solutions. Remaining folks will eventually let go. Shane H and Beth Weis are the worst people and should be fired.
