RIF

Hi I just heard about a RIF in the risk adjustment coding department. Says the RIF was to save money and it was outsourced. Any word on this?

MS Teams chats undeleteable?

Does anyone know why we cannot delete our chats/conversations on MS Teams? Now that they did away with Skype, we have no choice but to use Teams and it appears that Big Brother is watching! Hum, fuel to fire us? Oh well, we’ll just continue to... — read more

Do people exaggerate or did it really get so bad?

I left this company before the pandemic but I am still in contact with some of my former colleagues who tell me that the situation at Anthem is getting worse. Honestly, at one point I even regretted moving to a new company, since I did not leave it... — read more

Don’t bother going the extra mile for this company

Do your job. Do it well and in time. Get paid. Go home. You can go above and beyond and even achieve numerous impact awards and they’ll still lay you off. As stated here multiple times, the “culture” preached by leadership is complete horsesh*t — read more

Always watch the fine print!

Watch out for the fine print if you accept whatever this new package is. If what they are offering does involve unemployment as supplemental, that makes sense since Anthem would save money. Due to COVID, the unemployment benefits are more than usual... — read more

Holy Moly

All these posts are disheartening. Sounds like Anthem has turned into a horribly toxic environment/company I’ve been in the industry 30 years, used to work for the “old WellPoint” prior to the Anthem merger. Had issues, however, nothing like I’m... — read more

How many layers of management do we need?

How many VPs as well? Money is being wasted on people who are doing nothing when it should be invested to keep the talent that is necessary for this company to function. Sadly, those responsible for running Anthem don't seem to share that opinion... — read more

No wonder we are stagnating

If I have learned one thing about Anthem during my five years here it is that this company leaves zero room for out-of-the-box thinking or individual contribution. If you are not doing everything the way it has been done for the last who knows how... — read more

Being blackballed?

Ok. So has anyone heard any instances of someone being blackballed with Anthem? I’ve been here 8 years. I’ve had nothing but good reviews. I’ve been on 1 team the entire time. I’ve taken 2 sick days in 8 years. I’m reliable. I don’t complain. Anyway... — read more

Not taking a vacation (with joy)?

Some of us do not take vacations at Anthem because you end up working 60+ hours the prior week and / or 60+ hours the week after just to get the week off, if you don’t end up having to cancel your vacation at the last minute because some deadline is... — read more

Should I tough it out?

Like many others here a lot of us have been financially preparing ourselves in case we are the ones impacted in the next round of layoffs. (Let’s face it. It’ll happen sooner or later). Within the last year I was able to cut down my household... — read more

Uncertainty drains energy more than work itself?

I’m tired of the uncertainty of when I will see my name on the layoff lists. It’s so exhausting. I understand that there are no safe jobs anywhere, that there are no more companies where you can dedicate yourself to building a career, but Anthem is a... — read more

As cheap as possible, please

Anthem is laying off hundreds of excellent workers, to be replaced by offshore or cheaper help. I just found out from somebody no longer with the company that the RIF was originally planned for 2020, but was put aside due to COVID. Optics... I know... — read more

Sick and tired

I don't have any new info on layoffs but what I can tell you is that I'm sick and tired of being used like a farmer's mule. I've busted my a** for this company for 20 years. They don't care. They wouldn't bat an eye if I walked tomorrow. I hope they... — read more

When did we become the company of mediocrity?

We used to be so much better than that. People tried to do their best every single day because that was encouraged and rewarded. Now nobody seems to care if you're doing your best or just putting in your bare minimum. People are rewarded based on... — read more

Anthem needs to be purchased

All the random nonsense Anthem is funding

The hardest part for me is when I see Anthem finding money to finance all kinds of random nonsense, and on the other hand they make savings by laying off loyal and hard-working employees. Someone here has already mentioned that practice which I don’t... — read more
