H1 visa program is supposed to be capped at only 80,000 people. Instead employers brought in over 800,000 people with that program. Companies like bowling simply don’t want to hire US citizens so they can hire a visa holder or open a design... — read more
Aerospace engineering fourth highest unemployment rate
For new college grabs aerospace engineering has the fourth highest unemployment rate even higher than history, major psychology, majors, etc. I feel like Boeing will have a difficult time attracting engineers into this industry. Boeing led the... — read more

Average tenure of Boeing engineers drops over past decade
Tenure decreased in almost every age bracket and the risk of this “brain drain” as analyst and union officials have called it, is that it drags on current operations and could make it more difficult for Boeing to launch its next new... — read more
I have not seen any positive changes since Kelly Ortberg arrival.
Still the same will happen if you dare speak up about any problems or concerns. You will be made a villain, and have a PIP slapped on you or be on the next layoff notice short list. Also have not seen any change in behavior in our group's manager... — read more
SPEEA Email - Layoffs
Anyone see the email from SPEEA regarding round 3 in January? It’s coming.
Why the heck are the Boeing Starliner astronauts still stuck in space?
Two NASA astronauts who flew up to the International Space Station in a Boeing Starliner capsule for a round trip that was supposed to last just over a week will be stuck in space for closer to a year before they can come home. Despite the... — read more

Boeing Plans $1 Billion Expansion of South Carolina 787 Facility

Workaround for the contractors
My group lost 5 hard badge, some with 20 years, but still has 5 "contractors" some with as little as 1 year. They do the exact same job as the blue badges employees but they were titled as "suppliers" by the contract house they work for. Nice... — read more
Why has Boeing forced people who received layoff notices to turn in their badge and leave Boeing property within five minutes?
Rather than letting the person work for the remaining 60 days? In the news a guy said he was given five minutes to pack up and say goodbye to his coworkers before being escorted outside the gate by Boeing security after he was told he was being laid... — read more
I'm starting to think Kelly Ortberg can pull things off and turn Boeing around.
But it's going to take time. The most important thing right now Ortberg needs to do without delay is firing bad Boeing managers. Boeing needs to also get out of the Social Engineering business. DEI, Woke and whatever else it's called.

Just heard there will be a wave 3 in Washington. Possibly 10k+ let go. Probably not IAM tho

So far.. wave two has being light
I heard just a handful of notices being given. Many groups were (virtually or literally) not impacted. That is good news; but it makes you wonder how they are they going to reach the 17K.
Re-hire openings
Funny how Boeing distribution lays people off and then turns around and posts their positions on the job sites.
If you're put on a PIP, you're as good as gone
Boeing is downright spiteful to employees who have been issued, PIPs in most cases unjustifiably. 10 out of 10 employees issued PIPs at Boeing are terminated. Boeing HR purposely defines PIPs to ensure employee failure. What PIPs allows Boeing to do... — read more
