The VP Business Model is Archaic

The VP business model is archaic and is the primary reason Oracle is failing. The world has evolved from fear management. Japanese management style works, which has been around for decades. It's not rocket science. It's simple team building and... — read more

Oracle Hospitality Struggles

Oracle Hospitality competitors have surpassed O on all levels. Oracle is far more expensive. Product is sold and the gouging begins, charging for everything never stops. Hoteliers are moving to other vendors that offer new features and components for... — read more

Oracle Stock. 80.94

I’m sick of seeing stock drop. Oracle is driven by Cloud. Cloud can not support Oracle as is. Severe downsizing is necessary . Expenses are too much for Cloud to carry. The other products don’t work unless I’m Missing something. Why are products... — read more

Here's a tip for the oracle management

When your house of cards falls, and you need to hide, there is always Mexico. I hear people like you often go there. To get there, go "south". If you don't know what "south" is, you'll have to ask someone for directions.

One good patent deserves another...

I wrote this a while back: While I was at Oracle, I got an idea for how to solve a problem in the code. The manager I worked for suggested that I submit a patent for it. I had written up the solution to the problem, had sent it to him in an email... — read more

If a tree falls...

You know that old riddle, "if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there, does it make a sound?" Orahole is like that, "if an employee screams into the void and only corrupt and dishonest people are around, does anyone hear you?" Orahole is... — read more

Oracle officially the absolute worst

Take a look at any of the links in the "Related Companies" section. The intensity and frequency of loathing towards Oracle blows every other company out of the water. We all hate this place, but the contrast with how much less all the other... — read more

Inadequate training

Now that I look back on the year I worked at Oracle, I think everything would have been easier and I might still be there if only I had better training. But I didn't. I was mostly left to my own devices. Now in my new company, I had more training... — read more

Axe man

Now that we are well into Q4, we could use your perspective as we approach the new fiscal. Any comment on management layoffs or realignments.

Hard to believe...

All of the managers I worked with were doing exactly the same thing. Same tricks and same skillset. Hard to believe, but it is true. I am absolutely right. Get out of Oracle! It is a truly horrific place to work.

Side hustles while working at ORCL

I was at ORCL for about 5 years. During that time, I worked my tail off. However, I also leveraged that time to buy and flip 2 homes in the bay area. I was able to take advantage of working remotely, so that I could search for homes, make offers... — read more

What is GBU?

Ok so d-mb question. I work at orahole in support of EBS crapware. So many posts on here about GBUs. What area of Orahole is that?

The truth about Oracle HW revenue

It is always interesting to me how Sun apologists post nonsense like the recent lie that the HW division is some cash printing press, and that the HW employees deserve kuds - all at a time leading up to layoff season. Do these folks actually believe... — read more

Out of their league

I played sports my whole life. I played little league baseball up to college and semi pro ball. I was at oracle for 15 years and I’m at my new company for 75 days. The people I’ve met and worked with are like in the major leagues and the people I... — read more

Lack of investment in GBU

I work in a GBU and have noticied over the years a general lack of investment in the business. Even worse than from what I started. Lack of product investment & updates, lack of investment in internal tools (CRM system is awful), marketing funding... — read more

Interesting files from the trial

I found some files from the Oracle trial that were pretty interesting here is an example: https://www.dol.gov/sites/dolgov/files/OALJ//PUBLIC/FOIA/Frequently_Requested_Records/Oracle_2017_OFC_00006/Oracle_2017OFC00006_DOC_918.pdf There are many... — read more

Apps VS tech

It’s funny how many apps VS. tech posts there are. I work in apps and will never understand why so much animosity between tech and apps people here? Sometimes I feel like these are employees of two separate companies. All of this generally speaks... — read more

What do you expect earnings report will look like?

We've been making some progress to the point where I think layoffs have actually slowed down a little. I'm not too optimistic, but there are some positive signs. The stock has also been on the rise, so that's another positive thing. I'm not being an... — read more

Beware the Ides of March

While I am not expecting a huge layoff, there are way too many leaving for that. It is amusing, however, to read LinkedIn and see the number of folks happily starting new roles … elsewhere! No it is not the rank and file that should have their... — read more

Friday March 4th

Happy Employee Appreciation Day! Yes, there is such a thing, but you will not hear that from Oracle. Which is not really appropriate because they really do appreciate you! Oracle loves every dollar they can make by having your b-m in a chair! The... — read more

Attrition

Seems like Oracle Management has decided to let the attrition's unnoticed and replace experienced employees with cheap labor as new college students or below 3-5 years of experience. They don't care as long as the work is done. The pressure is... — read more

DD, the last straw

So, some genius decided to change the ability to direct deposit to 5 accounts down to only 1 account. Seriously. This affects everyone in USA!?!? Who made this decision? Adrian? Greg? Who does this to people? No consideration for employees. ... — read more

The healthiest departments here?

There are people that do not last even two months here. However there are also those who've been working here for 15-20 years. This means that some here are extremely dissatisfied, while others are quite comfortable. I guess what matters the most... — read more
