Considering applying here, but would like insight on current environment for project / program managers/ leads. Based on job postings, would probably work in downtown office. Are there bonuses? Is it worth it since I might need to get security clearance to work there. I currently have a hybrid set up, and it seems L3 Harris requires 5 days in office, would be a major adjustment but trying to see if positives outweigh benefits.

sweatshop is a good description of the Rework Factory, all these miserable deformed hunchbacked troll losers leaning over their benches doing sh---y soldering work that will need to be reworked when the Harris POS equipment fails for the customer
The ole Rework Factory in Rotchester NY is the epitome of a shole company. People there always had a chip on their shoulder that they couldn't do better than being stuck at that soldering sweatshop.

@g9 What do you expect? Most of them were hired by the (now former) Director of Operations who was a captain in a foreign military. He-l, many of them didn't even speak English. When they couldn't pass the basic mechanical aptitude test , they scrapped the test. When I asked, "How did they get the job here?" I was told: "Her sister and her father work here." All in the same department of course. Did they do any actual work? Doesn't matter as long as they charged time to it. A veteran tech did the assembly while "no English" watched, they both charged time to it.
Sometimes there were three of them on one job. It was all a fraud and it still is.
When we asked, "Why did you hire people that can't speak or read English to build these things? Wasn't it a requirement?"
Answer: We will not discriminate against people because of their place of birth. Report to anti bias training. Apologize for your privilege. Racist.

Since Kube is out and Sam is in, the tour of those sites last week made sense. He's gonna stick a for sale sign on that big Clifton property and stick it with a fork. Solves 2 problems: #1 Brings in about $15 million from the sale of the property and consolidating the work to a cheaper labor pool.
#2. Gets rid of a lot of under qualified, over paid dead wood in one swoop.
@g9 I am the one who said that you get automatic rejection, because it happened to me. Probably would have had better chance if I worked through a local recruiter to avoid the auto rejection.

Be this a hr troll or not. I can’t stand di-kwads who state statistics of why Rochester su-ks. Go live in your sh-t suburb, we have a great thing going here and are improving a great city every year.
As for working at l3h roc, you aren’t going to get remote or hybrid PM and you will get a cr-p sandwich to take every week be it with management or customer. If you want a challenge come along, the ceiling is pretty big in a role like PM but know you might get your teeth kicked in for a while.
@e8 Not true. You can get hired in Clifton without a clearance. In fact, you don't even have to be a citizen of the United States. If you don't believe that, check out the board shop (clean room).

@d9 OP here. I have very little desire to work in downtown. Not a fan of Rochester weather, so ideally would be great to find a remote role, but those are in high demand so exploring my options. Based on responses in this thread and other research I’ve done, I will stay away from this place.
If you apply on L3 harris site, you will automatically be declined for a role if you select that you don’t have security clearance.

@dg New Jersey is no bargain either. I retired from Clifton 5 years ago and my wife will be leaving that site later this year. After she's safely away, we're heading south. Fug dis place.
@d9 It's documented that Rochester's total crime rate and violent crime numbers are well above the national average for mid-sized cities. Larceny, retail theft, and auto theft make up a large portion of reported offenses.

New York state is ranked #50 (dead last) in the nation for affordability. Electricity alone is 30% higher than the national average. They will spend $8 billion a year providing free food, housing and education for you-know-who.
Avoid not only Rochester. Avoid New York. everyone else has. A million people left that state last year. They can't all be wrong.
