I know there are layoffs happening this Monday 8/24. Does anyone have any intel on the scope?

@x5 was let go today in Dallas because scheduled vacation next week. So bad they couldnt let me have my scheduled vacation.
Was informed many more next week.

@pw I know WFH employees in Syracuse and Dallas were postponed until 8.31. Majority are on the chopping block. I heard there are about 40 employees that will be let go Monday.

Strange how I left 9 months ago and just today got an email from NY technology.. they're wondering where my laptop is.. did you receive the box. BNY go f urself. I threw the laptop in my fire pit in July. I can mail the ashes if they want to pay me for the time and effort to ship back!

Pittsburgh is the main targeted location due to their move to the cruddy smaller building across the way from the big building. Employees look so noticeably miserable. They know things are bad and about to get worse.

@a5 BNY doesn’t need to “plan” layoffs for late August or September 2026 — Dermie and Alejandro keep the woodchipper running year‑round. When the time comes, the blades will already be hot and the next batch of facilities and roles lined up like firewood. The routine never changes: leadership drops a feel‑good post, rumors start, spreadsheets appear, and then the grinding begins. If your site has a lease ending or too many actual workers, you already know what’s coming. At BNY, modernization is just a polite word for mulch.

Yes- a medium to large tossing away of valuable employees. Offshoring and INshoring to/from India. The AI bubble has burst here at BNY and there will be he$$ to pay.
