HPE: “We will treat all those transitions with the highest level of care and compassion.”
Translation:
We lead with empathy and compassion…
just kidding.
We ghost you, then act like you’re the one who did something wrong.
Nothing says “highest level of care” like a sudden calendar invite titled “Quick Sync” followed by radio silence and a severance PDF.
Anyone else getting the classic HPE special?

@341 has there been another layoff this week?
for those impacted, leadershjp never wanted us to have a seat at the table, equality & human dignity do not exist here. we’re not allowed to be with them or have a seat in this system. Godspeed to all of us, especially in this job market.
@2tq Hey she is pretty cute! I'm going to ask her to my Prom.
When Chemical Engineering requires too much brain power, work in HR. She's acting like she invented Wellness Fridays when it's been around for a decade or so. She wanted to get out of her comfort zone so she went into HR? What does HR do anymore anyway? What a joke!!
Impacted from HQ. After I got laid off, my director, manager, and colleagues didn’t even bother to check on me or see how I was doing. Not a single message. Despite this “culture” Antonio keeps trying to create, it’s so clear middle management only cares about themselves and the optics. It’s all performative. It’s not actually about people at all, and they are definitely not living that “force for good” value.
now I know y decisions are not made in the best interests of the company
@2th Yes. At 3:30 min. Coming from Juniper, I was not prepared for this. Almost sp-t my coffee on my keyboard. And she is a Chemical Engineer? Also from SMU? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4COA0QaRZgk
@2tb latest video from Chief People Officer, check youtube
@2rj Huh?! Is this for real: "emails the university president for a “volume discount.”"
While HPE cuts thousands of jobs to manage costs, a senior leader treats family college tuition like a bulk purchase and emails the university president for a “volume discount.”
The future of work is feminist. At HPE that means a woman CEO and women leading engineering, sales, and marketing.
a demonic takeover of HPE, can you see it?
@20p Maybe nobody liked you because you’re a whiner?
Nah. You just sound like a soft southern frat boy still stuck in that college Greek life cosplay.
Did your parents work at HPE, or did the pretty boy privilege simply bounce right off you?
@20p Maybe nobody asked you because you're stupid. And maybe nobody likes you because you're you...sless.
This business is cold.
I feel for those who got laid off, treated like garbage, and ghosted, while their families are just tryin’ to keep a livelihood.
@1pq maybe nobody liked you, because you are a whiner
workjoy presents: the chili cookoff pageantry
How I felt during my layoff: “Somebody get these beggars out of here!”
In The Odyssey, the suitors sneer at the beggar in the doorway. That’s what a layoff feels like from the inside. It’s fine. You learn who people are when you stop being useful to them.
@1px Sound like something Dr. Gartner would do.
@1pq Same thing happened to me, 5 years working with these losers daily. Not a peep from anyone!
@1pq It’s sad. Remember when people would put a family photo and plant on their desk? OK, work to the letter. Show me the money. Nothing more, nothing less. That's the deal. In 5 years the next big management revolution will be capturing hearts and minds and we have dogs back in the office.
My experience with the layoff. I had worked with these people for ten years. What followed was complete silence. Not one message. Not a single “It was great working with you for ten years.” Not a “Hope you’re okay.” Not even a brief “We wish you well.” Nothing.
Toni should relocate Gartner to HQ
@1kg Did he write that MQ? That's all I ever heard about .. . I wrote the MQ for this and that, blah, blah, blah Gartner this and Gartner that. . . . Customers loved that.
@1hg Dr. Gartner scores very poorly in the Gartner Magic Quadrant. 0 ability to execute.
“Or desaparecidos” Spanish for “the disappeared,” a term used for people who vanish under authoritarian or repressive regimes (historically associated with Latin American dictatorships), implying the process feels secretive, chilling, and deliberate.
@1ja It takes no time to pop in here and share info (or talk sm--k in the absence of any real info to share).
Don't worry about people's time.
Two years ago, HPE declared 5% layoff over a three year period. Since then, people here and there suddenly go missing without a word said, inside or out. HPE has cracked the layoff code. Like a rapture. Or desaparecidos.
high school drama is nothing compared to middle aged adults in this environment, don’t understand why people are not focused on work, too
much envy and useless talk, glad im out
@1e7 Just like Gartner, Dr. Gartner is a scam too.
@1ax I don't think the Dr. works here anymore. Too much Henny someone called HR.
@1dj We get it, ok. You hate women. Now go fu-k off you incel tw-t.
Creepy dudes in this company. Elevating women to management roles, who do absolutely nothing significant but get elevated higher than everyone else. They are immune from accountability and have a talent for being manipulative and very nasty.
@1at
Right, Antonio Neri. Appreciate him now. It could be worse.
@175 posted this multiple times here and it gets deleted - be careful around the Dr. Has HR on speed dial.
Antonio's job is to placate shareholders while keeping the ship running. Layoffs are nothing new at HPE it's been part of business for the last 20 plus years. He has a much better track record than his predecessors. We all should be grateful that he is at the helm of our ship. .
Thought Antonio was the guy who understood the future of work. Turns out he just understood how to shrink the headcount.
@15m Gartner a goon.
@122 Gartner wouldn't even take Dr. Gartner back. No sure where he went.
@10x Well, you know by now. Do tell. (My thought, though, is not on a Friday. No layoff.)
