Thread regarding Gulfstream Aerospace layoffs

So about that new datacenter being built...

Y'all think it's going to pull talent from GS?
Anyone fighting it? Anyone for it?

@2fj 😜Lol! Learn how to spell! I worked for "Boeing" in the 80's. Don't need to watch any documentaries or movies to know what I'm talking about! Go back to your Mama's basement and try to school someone else!😉

@1f5 People Partners ? Partners to whom… watch the Netflix doc “Freefall: A Reckoning for Boening”. When you go to HR you become a target, what do you think they meant?

@1f5 that’s funny you speak of the 10 minute breaks and lunch periods, sounds like a familiar topic that your CHRO sponsored during the implementation period.

Sometimes I'm super busy, others I get a breather to catch up. Some folks complaining about others doing "nothing" but don't know about the highs and lows. Then they see comments like some here and roll out micromanagement. If you are flexing time for any reason, gotta get approval. Need to make up a few minutes of time because got sidetracked? Forget just making it up. Now have to report it thru lead/mgr for approval. The cycle of micromanagement is crazy. They keep hiring management, we could use some experts in specific roles to fill the voids. Stop burning out some depts while others want to assist but cannot.

@1mf Engineering is not understaffed, it's lack of experience, which is plant wide. So It's your department also, you're not understaffed, the experience level in your area is not where it needs to be to handle the work load. Same case in all areas. So yes, I'm speaking for your area also!

I'm getting the vibe the comments here are sponsored by GAC.

Speak for your own department. Many are critically understaffed. Engineering is largely at a standstill

IKR! We got ppl in our department clocking in and then going to the grocery store or the nearest fast food restaurant, and coming back in an hr later! 10 minute breaks have become an hr long morning brunch! Lunchtime is even worse! Afternoon break is another 30-40 minutes for some of us! Still the other half that work, need to keep things afloat. Guess our HR- (People Partners) are good with this kind of behavior!

@OP ! Lol! This place is an overweight pig! You could get rid of 50% of it's work force and still get the same amount done. Half work, and the other half get to draw a paycheck for doing as little as possible with no repercussions!
