U of P today announced possible reorg and layoffs soon. It has started by offering early leave package opportunities for some employees but says they are not clear that they will approve their applications. If not enough volunteers to leave they will then need to layoff. Their HR webpage was impacted due to employees trying to research benefit packages ---- so would seem many employees must have received the offer.

@2vz hogwash. Enrollment didn't get the VSP because they generate revenue but academics and finance are absolutely eligible.
@2d1 No, all eligible departments received the VSP offer. The only known departments who are safe from this are Enrollment, Finance, and Academics but it's being said some management in these departments also received the VSP email.
@275 is it true that the layoffs are only happening in the Marketing Department?
VSP packages went out and those who were eligible had until Aug 20th to take them. At this time everyone is in limbo to see what will happen as separation dates are set from Sept 3rd to Oct 31st. With becoming publicly traded and pumping money into the ridiculous AI system, the college is showing they don't value the employees who make sure the students are taking care of. Employees were given 10 days to make a huge choice and those who didn't take it really just have to hope they don't find themselves unemployed.
You're 1 billion % correct. They could care less about the employees anymore. Our sh---y a-s systems and failing AI show that. They're definitely more worried about their bonuses, both, hair plugs, and metrics that really don't help the university at all. Shareholders should call for basically all leadership to step down. They shouldn't have a job. They are utterly worthless. Especially Brett and Maria. Trash a-s executives. We should be embarrassed by our lack of actual leadership.
