Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Have layoffs slowed down?

It certainly feels like it to me.

@15c OMG did they not teach history to your generation?

The 1917 Red October revolution, led by Vladimir Lenin and the Bolsheviks, overthrew the Russian provisional government and led to the creation of the Soviet Union.

Sort of not really. Yeah it’s slowing because they can’t offshore jobs fast enough due to regulations but as soon as they sort out their loopholes they’ll start up again

GE Healthcare just had large layoffs last month, I would expect the same for Optum.

@a2 I agree there is usually a larger RIF in Q4 to get people off the books by the end of the year. My uneducated guess is there would be a larger one Oct 22 and maybe some smaller ones for the 4th Thursday in Aug or Sep.

Between the economy and AI, most large HC companies are still seeing layoffs.

Never fear, Optum will make up for lost time by year-end.
