Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Aug 13, NYSE Delisting

Unless they get the stock above one dollar August 13 is 30 days under one dollar which will trigger the New York Stock Exchange the listing notification. I’m sure before then they’ll try something crazy to try and prop the stock up quickly above a dollar before it falls again I imagine all these layoffs are to project a forward, looking positive statement during Q2 call to try and get the stock up briefly.

@1k4 So, as someone in the common pointed out, it did not impact anything immediately, they have 6 months to figure it out... It will likely result in a reverse split.

Option 1 — Reverse Stock Split (Most Likely — 60% probability)

This is the fastest and most controllable solution. For example a 1-for-10 reverse split:

• $0.74 stock becomes $7.40 overnight
• No new capital needed
• Board can approve quickly
• NYSE compliance restored immediately

The catch:

• Signals desperation to the market
• Stock typically falls back after the initial boost
• Doesn’t solve the underlying debt problem
• Shareholders hate reverse splits — each share is worth less proportionally
• History shows reverse split stocks in distress continue declining

Companies typically announce reverse splits with a restructuring deal to give investors a reason to hold. Without a deal — the stock will likely drift back below $1.00 even after the split.

Timeline: Board could approve within days. Could happen before August 26 deadline.

Option 2 — Positive Restructuring Announcement (Second Most Likely — 25% probability)

If Optimum announces a creditor deal before August 26 — even a framework agreement — the stock could surge above $1.00 organically.

Today’s Q2 results showing:

• Broadband improvement
• Mobile growth
• EBITDA margin expansion

…give management slightly better ammunition to negotiate with creditors. A deal announcement would be the best possible outcome — stock recovers, NYSE clock stops, restructuring proceeds consensually.

Timeline: Creditor negotiations intensifying now. Possible but uncertain before August 26.

Option 3 — Strategic Announcement (15% probability)

Any of these could spike the stock above $1.00:

• Lightpath sale announcement
• T-Mobile or AT&T MVNO deal signed
• Strategic buyer emerging for assets
• New capital injection

Timeline: Possible anytime but unpredictable.

Option 4 — Do Nothing and Accept The Notice (Increasingly Possible)

Here’s the honest reality — Optimum may simply:

• Accept the NYSE delisting notice on August 26
• Use the 6-month cure period as negotiating leverage with creditors
• Execute the reverse split later as part of a broader restructuring deal
• Or move to OTC markets if delisting happens

A company fighting a $25.5B debt restructuring may decide NYSE compliance is a secondary concern compared to the creditor negotiations.

The Most Likely Scenario:

Watch for a reverse stock split announcement in the next 2-3 weeks — probably combined with some positive restructuring language to give investors a reason to hold the new higher-priced shares.

The Q2 results this morning — better than feared — give management slightly more confidence to make that announcement now rather than waiting.

@dx

Classic case of you guys all worried about the wrong things. Unless you were d-mb enough to actually purchase this stock. I doubt any employees were though since you all had a front row seat to what was happening.

Not quite how that works, they MAY get a notice at 30 days likely longer, then there is a cure period of 6 months, then delisting procedures start and that takes months of court stuff... nothing will happen publicly this month even if it goes to .50 and stays there
