Figured I'd drop this here since this thread went a bit viral.
I'm guessing a bunch of folks landed here directly, and some might not have realized this is an actual forum, not just a single thread. The UI is from a different era, so it's pretty easy to miss the rest of the board.
Anyway, there have been a few other interesting discussions started recently besides this one, so if you haven't had a look around yet:

@cx don't forget that the reason that they gave for not giving bonuses to the front line staff was because they don't make the key business decisions. That is true, but they are the ones delivering service to clients every day under circumstances that are incredibly difficult due to the decisions being made by these executives. Their bonuses are lavish and they never have to deal with the outcomes while the front line staff gags them down every day.
It amazes me how tone deaf upper management has to be to send out a meeting invite titled Business Update, no agenda or details in the invite after the last year at FIS. Do they not realize the uncertainty and stress about job security that many employees live with on a daily basis? The fact that someone thought this was ok tells you all you need to know about decision making of upper management.
@ct I have zero trust in anything upper management says. They say transparency but then communicate info that is intentionally vague. Reading between the lines of corporate misinformation- they have no rifs plans due to earnings but strategic rifs/rebadge are on the table.
If you are an employee, not in the C Suite, you are nothing but a dot, that exists now, but seconds from now can be erased. Your performance has zero meaning. Your goals, zero meaning. Meeting your goals, zero meaning. The only thing that matters is the stock price so that the C Suite becomes richer.
How are we supposed to function when every month they have these last minute meetings, so encrypted, laying thousands of us off, with no regard to the affects on those that actually generate income???
TechDev got Capital Markets crapped the bed in earnings. PS across the org is abismyl. Now we will be picking up the slack to deliver and recognize pending revenue
@cn ... and "Prosperity is just around the corner".
Somehow that 94-year old phrase just seemed so familiar as he spoke.
@cn
My reading of the call was that there were no "extra" RIFs planned in Capital Markets as a result of the earnings miss. That doesn't mean they didn't already have some planned.....
well it certainly was a business update.
Another BS recorded session.
@cn So August layoff rumor is false, I don't believe for a second they are not doing another round.
@cj that was indeed a bizarre choice!!!
Recap : Everything is fine, few hiccups..no "planned" RIF, we are getting lot of new growth new clients
Call.. it's all good, still great company, plenty of business, few miss steps. Carry on keep it up.
@cj usually these type of messages are done via Town Hall, so it's odd that there were various meetings sent out and agree with you regarding the title. In the 11:45am people were allowed to ask questions at least.
I think this call is fine, meaningful update. My only complaint is that the title of this meeting was HORRIBLE considering what past “business updates” meant for us.
@c8 Accountability with shareholders will not be taken until she escorts herself out the door.
WTF even is this call...Don Duet doing lip service about nothing stating business is stable. Capital Markets p-o but adjusting. These people are the most incompetent I have ever seen in leadership positions in any company in my 30 year career.
@c0 no it's not jus you! That was a waste of time!
They told nothing useful
@ca can you share what they told ?
Let’s see what happens on Sep.4th. FIS has been letting its salaried employees wrap up their work no later than 3pm on Fridays as a work/life balance mentality. I call b.s. on this as they are seeing how much work can actually get done the rest of the week leading up to Friday. I believe they are going to use this data to RIF more workers.
Been with FIS 29 years. We used to have meetings about how to make our employees feel more valued. The philosophy was that happy employees make clients happy. Now we layoff key ppl on the ground and invite the leftovers to meetings about adding middle managers to make our clients feel valued. Employees have no value to these ppl.
I joined the "meeting" and I can't tell you what it was about as I'm still confused why this was even a meeting. Felt like I was listening to word salad so I zoned out. All that was missing is "what will be will be"
“I have taken accountability with the investors” - Stephanie you decimated the PS organization and wonder why you are unable deliver for clients on implementations and revenue - all these cuts across FIS CTO,Client Office, TPO, Banking, Cap Markets for a few years now has fully harmed us! You have no idea what you are doing!
Company is 40% down in stock price in one year and the leader says it's a "temporary setback". What the he-l are they smoking and how stupid do they think we all are?
How many more times is Beatty going to hide behind, “As Stephanie said”? If you’re a leader, have the confidence to speak for yourself. She seriously needs to develop some presence and gravitas because it’s painfully lacking. This company comes across as completely fake, and it’s clearly headed downhill. As for those two and Bob, they’ve done nothing to inspire confidence or trust.
What in the actual F was that???????? Biggest eye roll ever!
@c0 Message will be conveyed in the coming weeks and months
These people are SO OUT OF TOUCH with REALITY! More blah, blah, blah. What a waste of my time.
@c0
aboslutely no message, surprised?
@OP it’s just trying to keep from clients the turmoil that has become FIS.
Is it just me or am I really weak in English? What's the message they're trying to get across?
Do this bunch of sheet just means „dont tell the clients we are a sh---y company”?
@OP
I can't listen to this BS... makes my sick
Portfolio Solutions under Vincent B was specifically called out.
@bs I got 2.
speak positive even if you are layoff that is the message
strategic review of products, no mention in my call, of lay offs
