Oracle is following hidden practice of retaining the H1b's and hiring H1b's always and getting rid of Locals.
Either they should layoff H1b's this time more and disclose the numbers
or
They should hire only US and not H1b's

What if I told you all will get automated and your focusing on the wrong thing. H1B, North American-born, it doesn't matter. Temporary cheap work as AI takes over.

@OP It is fight between humans and AI, not humans to humans, please show some compassion to h1b folks..these poor chaps are getting ripped left, right and center..by the way, the work is now going to Africa, Georgia etc.. India is no longer a cheaper option..
What other company would allow a 10,000 line PR to be merged, of a custom framework mimicking a well known open-source framework?

OP, it is not a hidden process. You obviously know about it an so does everyone else. It is based on cost. Work for far less and your job will probably become more secure.
Oracle is not doing anything illegal by hiring employees on H1B1 visas. This visa category is part of U.S. government labor and immigration policy. If you have concerns or questions about it, please contact the federal government or President Trump.
My experience with H1Bs from India at 4 companies now is they all work really long hours. The quality of their work is mediocre at best, but they’ll work themselves to death 14 hours a day and weekends. It started as working long hours so they wouldn’t risk deportation and now that’s just their culture.
Typically the US citizen does higher quality work and contributes just as much, if not more, but is MUCH more likely to phone it with 4 hours of work a day.
Obviously there’s exceptions to both. I’m just talking statistically.
For some jobs that’s preferable. If I ran a company I’d rather my L1 support engineer be an H1B working 14 hours a day, then staff my L2 escalation with brighter individuals. On average.
But I’m retired now. Best wishes to everyone.
Why would Oracle do that? I worked at the company for the last four years and realized it was an Indian business.
If Oracle is willing to spend extra money on immigration fees , go through all the extra hassle ANNDD still decided to keep them instead of you, then bro ... take the message that you are not adding value and go do something else. Tech is not for you.
@OP H1B is a pre-requisite for getting hired at Oracle.
What you think should happen has exactly nothing to do with what will happen. If you are worried then either
- deal with the reality & save your breath
or - dedicate your energy to changing your professional situation.
