The last month or two my motivation has been on the floor — and I can see the same in every single department here in Ireland.

I'm hoping PayPal will have the decency to inform staff this month and not keep this soap opera going any longer. If we have no update by the end of the month, I'm going to make the conscious decision to just get on with things — otherwise my mental health will be on the floor.
@c7 some days it works and it’s not a bad place but when it’s not working (95% of the time) it’s terrible
There are jobs out there if you look hard enough. I agree and I’m about to do something similar. This just isn’t for me and I regretted joining PayPal almost immediately and it’s been 2 years.
@ba I agree with your point of view but let's not pretend that in other companies the situation isn't similar or even worse... If I knew how things would have become for the corporate jobs I would be either a plumber or an electrician now. Plus changing a job in this environment means no redundancy payment that could at least keep you going for a bit of time and you are also on probationary period in a new job. It really shows how disorganized this company can be. Communication and execution are always a fail.

@OP Hey, I can really see how you're feeling, these long weeks of living in uncertainty are not easy to deal with. And checking sites like Thelayoff or Blind contributes to stirring the pot - either creates more uncertainty or giving some false hopes/fears, making employee's days worse.
Things like layoffs are outside our control, including it's timing, scope of impacts, etc. Things are not moving faster by us thinking about them over and over again.
While it's easier said than done, what works best for me, is day by day, finding my ground where I am at, work on my task at hand, develop my skills, invest in my knowledge, stay authentic to myself, trying to make every day a bit better & more positive by whatever floats my boat and take it one day at a time.
Mental health is way more important than a hiccup in the career. Stay well and resilient everyone!
