We had a great manager who was knowledgeable, supportive, and respected. They forced him out and now we have a credit-stealing dolt. Can somebody explain to me why this was done? Because I certainly can't figure this stupidity out.

my personal observation is that whenever a new initiative (that makes no sense) is introduced and the people who are aware that the new initiative makes no sense attempt to gain clarity or correct assumptions, they are blacklisted. In the addled minds of this management regime there is always a way to make things work and anyone who can't see it is just dead weight. Then of course the initiative goes live and the problems start - so they rip out the initiative because they've already let the only people who know why it failed go. Over and over and over again. BD is circling the drain....if you have integrity, leave.
This is exactly what happened in RxAuto. And now those eliminated positions where they laid people off are being posted as open positions in Durham. Beware. Leaders there are thinking they are so clever. I wonder if these leaders will ever share the results of the recent employee survey! Bet the survey results were bad, yet the leaders aren't the problem. Laughable.
@am this post was for a department but should be common across all departments/ functions. BD is a dysfunctional organization.
What function was this ?
@OP anyone challenging self-centered, low-IQ, low-morale , highly corrupt ‘leadership’ will have the same fate. There are many examples like that.
You already listed the reasons; since top level is all corrupt ( almost zero exception), that is what will happen with all other knowledgeable, honest and well respected folks in BD.
