Record Because People Lie

Record every meeting and conversation. To make it easier when dealing with discrimination, harassment, stealing work/ideas and false accusations. Documenting interactions protects me and ensures there’s an accurate record of what was actually said. Texas is a one‑party consent state, so you are allowed to record as long as you are part of the conversation. Simply start the recording on your phone.

The whole “just trust me, bro” routine only works when management is filing complaints against you. When it’s the other way around, suddenly they need forms, documentation, timestamps, witnesses, and a full dissertation before they’ll lift a finger.

Just use your Apple Watch or Meta AI Glasses. Management will never know and you can use the recordings at a criminal/civil trial or turn the recordings over to 60 Minutes.

Employees in Exxon Research and Engineering in New Jersey (prior to Mobil acquisition in 1999) used to lock their file cabinets and office doors when they were not in the office because other employees would go through their file cabinets during lunch and steal their fellow employees' ideas.

You have to wonder about a culture where stealing other employees' ideas was acceptable behavior.
