That's going to be VZ's full time employee headcount within 2 years. That's a fact!

VZ will get bought out by Cyberdyne Systems in a few years. They will fire all humans & replace them with humanoid robots linked up to Skynet.
I'm hoping they cut me ASAP
Dan will trim this and then sell it to Google to extend their voice. Telecom is going downhill =(
I hope so, god please
@ad lol wireless WAS the cash cow … a big part was due to accounting … if sold I’d gamble it’d be to either google who we’ve been partnering with more and more over years … or space x / Tesla… where elons buying to incorporate his satellite .. but the fiber will get sold with it in either situation fiber currently is your best answer for data . Forget the phone and tv markets . Data .. pure data is the future .
@bt Why do you all who want to retire think you are sticking it to VZ by staying for the next 4 years? You are aware that they negotiated that contract, right? You ain’t hurting them
@OP that’s great news! Never thought there would be so many left employed in two years.
Total cr-p once again.
“Would ya believe 45?” @OP
@ap Correct. If no EISP is offered (and with the crazy cost of medical insurance going forward) they have us for four more years, guaranteed per the contract extension.
@ad Their Pet Project. The great 5 G home internet disaster, wasted so much money, that should’ve went elsewhere . Mainly Fios expansion. Wireless is now and will continue to be gutted because of this. It is what it is. Fios is now expanding. Wireless is downsizing to the bare bones.
45,000 in two years seems way too aggressive. I can see Verizon continuing to reduce headcount, but 60,000 to 65,000 seems like a much more realistic range. Getting to 45,000 that quickly would require a major restructuring. I wouldn’t call that a fact.
@ad $130 billion to Vodaphone for their 45% stake. $50 billion for spectrum. Where are these profits you speak of? Are the on the room with us?
@ap, well, 3 didn't, and a 4th is leaving Sept . So time will tell. Many will leave incentive or not. They know this. Why they are no hurry creating a incentive.
45,000 + 15,000 India outsourcing + 30,000 US consulting
This is all an attempt at maximizing the kickbacks from outsourcing. They also want to get rid of people who know their scheme in the process.
Hey... what ever happened to the $20,000,000 spentbto train employees?
What happened to not increasing customers bill without adding value?
A Hoodie, jeans and cowboy boots ain't cutting it.
HBS should cover Vz BOD in a case study
45,000Yeeee
@ab my guess is they will stay for the 4 if there are no incentives. That’s my plan.
@ad it’s also where the majority of debt came from. So there’s that. Wireless is a money pit.
Oh so this post is banking on the wireless side will be sold? Verizon is known for the wireless business it’s where the majority of revenue and profit come from, why would they sell the good part of the business lol
@OP Well, since you said it’s a fact it must be true.
@a5 New hired and union member without layoff protection can be laid off through proper terms.
My guess 5k to 8k at minimum old timers will retire in next 2 years . With or without buy out.
3 people have retired in my GWC in just the last 2 months.
@a5 Wireline employees including union represented employees will remain. Elon will take over the non union wireless employees.
Yes, union can be laid off. Just ask the old unions at WalMart....
Nobody is untouchable, not even Dan.
@OP After Elon buys the Wireless side. Sounds about right.
Uneducated. VZ has 30k union employees, and they can’t just be laid off.
@OP And none in wireless
Not true... my research shows 67,371 DEI hires so that is the floor.
