Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

So many departures!!!

I’m seeing so many sudden departures this week! And everyone appears to be saying nice things about their experience in Exxonmobil….

Are most of these PILs? If so, I know ppl don’t want to burn bridges, but perhaps consider departing silently, so that more innocent ppl on LinkedIn don’t get deceived that this is such a wonderful place to work?

Also, interest rates are going up, so people who can are taking their lump sum before the rates go higher

A lot of August and September birthdays mean people are taking their next pension milestone and pressing the button.

Considering raises last year were nonexistent and the same is going to happen in January again no wonder people are leaving. Why stay and make less each year with high inflation. Being dropped in rankings for no reason resulting in loss of RSU and over salary curve. Also knowing the headcount reduction will continue.

I was promoted and then dropped to Good. I am done dealing with their BS and will be leaving.

I know several people who have left recently who were assessed high. Some hipos even. Everyone is leaving and who can blame us? I myself am trying to leave and have several interviews ongoing.

Maybe coming back as contractors. I would say probably shocked on what just happened. Watching other departments or individuals never doing anything of value. I get it. Narratives changed on a dime. Hiding problems from the upper DoAGs. I would maybe comeback here as a contractor for a bro is truck. Like the lean guys did. Wow. Another reason to be confused about this place. Nothing really nice to say. Watch nice folks fall alert. Lose themselves because of bad folks who have been empowered to undermine the people doing the real work. When I leave I hope someone out of no where buys this sunken barge.

@ak HC10 headcount reduction underway from now until end of 2027 plus PIL/PIP - Brussels, UK, Calgary etc. are headcount reduction mostly, US most likely PIL/PIP. Either way show some respect to colleagues who have worked for this fu--ing corporation.

They’re reminiscing about good old times, nothing wrong with that.

Seems like the posts that the summer interns are making are promoted/re-posted more trying to cover up the EXXOdus. Did they delay the PIP/PIL activities to shelter the summer interns from the weoponization of the PA process?

Most leaving this week and next are PILs. Saying nice things because want to return with blue badge in 2 months. Almost all were completely competent and only let go to teach each group’s layoff target, unrelated to group workload.

I suppose if one felt compelled to write a post on LinkedIn, it would serve no purpose to be negative, burn bridges and convey contempt to the folks at the next gig. Maybe they just found a better opportunity and thier departure wasn't MLRP related.

It is weird how people continue to kiss as* after being forced out, I just don't get it.
