Myself and about 100 or more other IT&V employees had THE call this morning. Laid off. Top performers too. How are layoffs even being decided?! This is BS!

What is IT&V?
No it's not BS. Why should the company keep you? To be nice?
You can at least try and make a difference in your workplace. Make efforts to unionize. Report and document what you see in case of a lawsuit. We can all hold leadership accountable if we as teammates stick together.
Or, you can keep playing the "I got mine" game and only do things that benefit your career. But don't be upset if you lose. Because posts like these with people who don't push back and wonder why they got laid off are way too common.

@a5 definitely not done from a hat. It’s all favoritism and nepotism. Been in this org for years and know this for a fact.
It wasn’t location based, people in several of the core locations were impacted. Lots of people on my floor in Charlotte and other saw people in Dallas. A lot of lead officers impacted, next round may be more managers because a lot of teams don’t have the required 9 anymore.

IT&V is perhaps the most bloated function in the company. Literally making up work and things to test.
Just time for the regulators to give us another MRA. Oh well, the AI fixes all, right?
I always laugh about people stating they are top performers. But the company obviously thinks differently.

Sorry to hear you lost your job. That’s tough. I think it’s going to continue in ITV space with decrease in open issues and the article work almost all done. Hope you all got good packages and land somewhere better.

@a5 Could be those with higher salaries. Couldn’t be performance bc a lot of top performers were laid off including myself. I had an Exceeds rating twice in the last 3 years. Could also be out of a hat. Just terrible.

what does the "V' stand for in IT & V
From my sources, about 119 people in IT&V got laid off today. Couldn’t pinpoint if it was age, salary, or performance for layoffs. Seems like names were drawn from a hat.
What company are you talking about if you don’t mind me asking
