@f9 They don't need to be made up. You work 60% of your available working days each month. That's what the Adjusted Total Working Days represents.

Total Possible Working Days - Vacation/Holiday/Sick = Adjusted Total Working Days

August has 21 TPWD. If you take 10 days of vacation, your ATWD would be 11. Not mine, not Joe's, just yours. My ATWD might be 17. Joe's might be 20.

To achieve 60%+ adherence, you would have to be in office seven of those 11 days. Not me. Not Joe. Just you.

You are not being expected to work all 11 days because you took time off, and you're not being expected to work extra days the following month to increase your average - you work 60%+ of however many Adjusted Working Days you have in next month.

If someone never exceeds the absolute bare minimum 60.1%, then suddenly drops below that, yes, they'll need to exceed the minimum in at least one of the following two months. Because that's how averages work. It's got nothing to do with making up days off.

@f9 Nailed it. Longtime remoter shanghaied into a rando hub office, always treated my used vacation days/blizzard-in-progress days as "one more day I don't have to waste my time and money making an utterly pointless and unnecessary commute only to telecommute to Minneapolis." Oops--my bad I guess...

@ba I'm in the same boat as a business line orphan, so you have my sympathy. Just another random butt in a seat due to "reasons." I'd [redacted] for an actual coworker on site to do something with to justify the commute.

Where is the measurement for remote employees who have been sitting home for the better part of maybe two years…most of which came from Union and nobody can really figure out what they do under the risk management umbrella?

@f1 Except there used to be guidance that stated vacation/sick days did not need to be made up. I’m not sure when that was removed, but many of us took time off in Q1 and did not make up days of those fell on our set office days.

@ec The "Working in the office: In-office attendance and reporting (Global)" article FAQs address this.

"Q. Am I held to the 'more than 60% in-office' expectation for Q1 2026 if the updated measurement approach didn't take effect until Q2 2026?

A. Yes, as the expectation of working three-plus days in the office was established and communicated over 12 months ago."

Reason being that three-plus Total Possible Working days in office each week in January, February, and March (not Adjusted Possible Working Days) averages at more than 60% and would have been achieved by employees following the expectation for Q1.

This isn't opinion or preference, just math.

I dont understand why they have the beginning months, when the policy for 60% came out the second week of April. Ruining the average for everyone.

@c3 easy to say when your employed. Wait till they read you the script and you find out the job market is absolute sh-t.

@bn I'm looking forward to it. Finally more time for vacations.

@bn Most definitely. One can’t have a 20% RTO and expect to be employed at Christmas. Pick your battles people.

@ba I despise RTO and think it is a failed policy. That said, I hate to tell you this: you will probably have lots of extra free time within a few months.

@b5 Talent and Performance page in workday. 3 month/ytd on the left, monthly in the middle, link to daily in the upper right.

@b5 It's in the same place in Workday that the reporting has always been.

I am at 20 percent YTD for attendance. F it

Can’t bother to waste 4 hours commuting to sit by myself in a cube

@ac I can’t find this one. How do you get to it?

I’m rolling in with a 44% average for the year… Was able to document every time I had doctors appointments and things, not sure what the penalty is or will be but I think a lot of us get heartburn thinking of it as they come up with a new policy and give us a last-minute whammy

@as You can make all the smug comments and assumptions you want...on your way to file for unemployment when your 'grandfathered remote' role goes bye bye.

@a6 Why are you worried about remote employees? If you are required to RTO then stay on it. No need to meddle in others business.

@a6

They are not. They don't need to. Despite what you RTO bootlickers seem to believe, we do just fine without any micromanaging.

Such a shame that you folks seem to need that much oversight...

@a4 Likely. That's why the "Working in the office: In-office attendance and reporting (Global)" article FAQs state "The current dashboard and reporting do not use duration as part of the formula and do not define a set number of hours that equals a 'day' in the office."

There is also a daily tracker that shows every single day an employee went to the office

Since they’re micromanaging in office employees, how are they currently micromanaging fully remote employees?

@a4 they aren’t tracking to 8. Don’t get paid to work a second over 8 hrs so ain’t no way they care if you’re over that # or not. 7 maybe.

Soon, number of hours in office per day average , retroactive. PIP for not being in 8 hours expectation
